    Good day to all!

My friend is planning to buy a 2nd hand pick up 4 x 2. He is eyeing either a '97 Toyota Hilux or a '97 Mitsubishi L200.

He needs advices and tips in so far as engine performance, under chassis, fuel efficiency, real market price, resale value, etc. of the 2 vehicles. He wants to know the positives and the negatives of both vehicles.

I am thanking in advance those who will share their ideas/opinions regarding this matter. Your advices will be greatly appreciated.

im not too familiar with pickups but i'd lean towards the hilux, it could be more reliable than the mitsu n have higher resale value.

hi-lix is ok if 4wd but if 2wd, hmmm dont like the looks, it has differrent suspension than the 4wd hi-lux just like the l200 compared to the strada. hi-lux has the 2L engine and the L200 has the 4D56, between the two i would rather look for other choices such as fuego.

Thanks ARB and kimpOy for your comments and suggestions.

One of the reason why my friend confined his choices to a 1997 4 x 2 L200 or Hilux is his limited budget.

Fuego commands a higher price. Im not sure, though, about the Eagle Series of Nissan.

My friend is welcoming suggestions about other brands which might fall within his budget.

Hope to get more suggestions/opinions from other members.
