I'm not sure if this is the proper forum...

I'm thinking of starting a taxi business, kahit a 1 or 2 units lang muna just to start.

I have in my mind yung Vios, Php533,000.00.

    OR

Get a used Corolla? for mga Php200,000.00

Advantage ng Vios, tatagal sya. Pero masmatagal mabawi ang puhunan. (14 months)

Advantage ng used Corolla, mabilis ang balik ng puhunan, pero baka mabilis na din masira at madaming gastos in the long run. (7 months)

Well, depende syempre kung ano condition ng used car mo.

Since Corolla target mo, my choice would be a used one. A late model, but well taken cared of Corolla will land your around 200ish lang for XL/XE variants...

(I'm not sure about this but i think sa insurance iba rate din ng for hire)

    2C lang.

Just a question, does anyone here know kung magkano ang boundary ngayon (Vios and Corolla)?

ganun pala un? e di ung mga bagong corolla XL taxis e la na ring warranty? magkalapit na un presyo ng XL and vios right? parang nawalan tuloy ng isang advantage to get the XL(it' still cheaper to maintain than the vios though)

speaking of which...is toyota officially serving up the vios for taxis?

sir bry, sa tingin nyo, since you'll be getting 2 units, get one na second hand, tapos isang brand new?

I would like to see Hyundai Matrix CRDi as taxis. Medyo practical and comfortable kasi eh.

Of course, I wouldn't know about the reliabilty and parts nung mga yon.

How about Mega-taxis (FX, Crosswind, Revo, Adventure)? wala bang bagong franchise yun mga yun?

you will need to change oil and spark plugs every month (expect the car to run 200 km/day minimum). tyres on taxis don't last more than 9 months. expect to replace shocks sooner than you'd think. clutch replacement after 1 year, tranny overhaul after only 2 years and complete engine overhaul after 3 years (i'm assuming you're an extremly lucky guy!) di pa kasali dyan ang aksidente, holdap, etc. mas mataas din insurance ng taxi kesa private car.

    good luck bro.....

    Pre, share ko lang.

Kapitbahay ko sa quezon city dati, nangutang at bumili ng dalawang taxi na second-hand (mazda 323 yata). after a few months of making good money, na-total wreck yung isa, kasi bago lang yung driver, yari! hanggang ngayon nagbabayad pa siya ng utang niya.

Yung isa pang kapitbahay is doing okay naman, isa lang taxi niya second-hand na big body corolla XL pa, but he drives it, kaya alaga niya. it's been a while, pero balita ko he has not had a big problem with.

Hehehe, taxi owners\drivers kasi and tirahan namin diyan sa QC.

P.S. Idagdag mo sa choices ang Altis, saw some pics sa cagayan de oro where altis are used as taxis.

kung second hand din lang balak mo suggest ko van for hire na lang or school bus service. get a hyundai starex jumbo na second hand, wala pa coding yan kasi exempted sa coding ang school bus.

pag weekend pwede mo pa rent sa mag-out of town trips. rent ng minivan ngayon is P3500/12 hours plus cost of fuel (P2500 sa iyo, P1000 sa driver.) pag sumobra sa 12 hours may per hour charge pa yun. pero maximum na alam ko is P4500/24 hour day. less pa maintenance cost mo kesa sa taxi. may van ka pa for family use.
