Hi, Sirs! Me and my husband are looking to replace our 2006 Innova. We want to get a brand new car and with our limited budget (750K max), we're thinking a subcompact is our best option. It's going to be our family car so primary consideration ang safety, durability, FC and low maintenance cost.

In terms of looks, I'm open to anything. Of course, my husband would prefer something na medyo maporma lol but, for me, I just want the best value we can get for our budget.

Another consideration is the size because medyo malalaking tao kami, so plus points for roominess. A more important requirement is the storage capacity because we live in QC but we spend every weekend in Pasay at my parents' house so we're usually hauling our stuff around (clothes, our kid's toys, etc.). That's why I'm thinking hindi pwede samin ang hatchbacks. Am I right po? Yung daily weekday route naman namin is limited to Diliman/Scout area lang.

Hindi po kami masyadong maalam sa cars so we've been researching online and going over forums for a few weeks now. It's really helped us a lot (esp. the good people of tsikot.com) but it's also given us a lot more to consider. If you could please share your thoughts on the following cars and how they compare, it would really help us and we'd greatly appreciate it.

    Hyundai Accent 1.4 MT - 588K
    Hyundai Accent 1.4 AT - 688K
Ford Fiesta Trend 1.4 MT (Sedan) - 685K
Chevy Aveo LT 1.4 MT (Sedan) - 679K
Chevy Aveo LT 1.4 AT (Sedan) - 719K
    Honda City 1.3S MT - 731K
    Mazda 2 V 1.5 MT - 725K
    Mazda 2 S 1.3 MT - 685K

Very tempting yung base model ng Hyundai Accent at 588K but my concern is the lack of safety features. In your opinion, Sirs, how big of a deal is the lack of ABS/Airbag po?

I'm also open to other suggestions. Sorry po sa haba ng post ko. Medyo excited kasi and looking forward to hearing your thoughts. More power to tsikot.com and all its members!

If I would suggest, don't sell your Innova and add the Fiesta 1.4 (not the base) on the garage

at least a compact car like Cruze?

Honda City and Hyundai Accent. Let your hubby test drive those 2 then decide.

Honda City 1.5E owner here. Sa pinagpipilian na modelo I pick accent 1.4AT.

Accent 1.4 AT * P688K price: driver side airbag, ABS, 14" alloy wheels & all power po. Mas mura at mas powerful than 1.3L MT Honda City. Malaki ang cargo compartment (more or less same as Honda city).

If you stretch your budget a little bit more, accent 1.6L AT Blue package at P808K. Mas mura than Honda City 1.5E. Full package option with alternator management for better fuel economy, mas maganda ang porma (para sa akin pero subjective syempre).

opt for the sedan counterparts ng mazda 2 & fiesta para may compartment for your luggage.

my top three would be the ...

    1. City
    2. Fiesta
    3. Vios

    --

the reason why i placed the vios at the end is because of the practicality that it gives. since its a toyota, its maintenance is cheaper than the other said options. also, parts are more abundant, and coming from a toyota, i guess, you would already know the ease of having one.

pero the first two are okay naman. i do drive a honda & a toyota. mas advantageous lang talaga yung toyota since yung PMS niya is cheaper if casa-casa ang basis.

sis, if you plan to keep your car i suggest go for hyundai accent 1.4 A/T has safety features you may want to consider. PMS is cheap (depende sa CASA, hyundai DASMA is OK) and the parts is also cheaper. FC is quite OK (feedback from friends who owns the new accent), new looks and spacious trunk.

if you plan to sell your desired car in 3-5 years time honda and toyota has good resale value but i think the accent 1.4 M/T price at 588k is value for money

We're considering City for the resale value pero natigilan din ako dun sa news ng recall and thinking of yung nangyari din sa Japan ngayon, I don't know how that would affect Japanese car companies.

Other than that, sobrang okay naman siya at laki na rin ng pakinabang namin dun since we got it in 2006. First family car namin yun kaya medyo sad din to let it go pero naisip namin nagsisimula na siyang sumpungin.

I guess it will be all up to the test drive. We will check out the Fiesta, Accent, and City. Thank u po!

    Scratch out the Aveo.

    Accent is the best car.
