Hehehe.

depends on the model. i think it will have a huge effect on the prices of used cars model years 1997-2002. definitely, with a 2001 Corolla selling used for 400k, talagang bababa yun kasi daw aabot ng 500k ang price ng Vios/City with the new excise taxes. so between 400k used and 500k new, patay ang used.

pero for the 1996 and older used cars.. i think minimal yung effect kasi depreciated na ng husto yung mga yun eh (nasa less-than 300k na ang price).

Although I doubt this would happen since the SIR is out of production already.

It seems the excise tax is good for SUV owners and bad for car owners.

Could be possible since the new taxes will be a bit easier on big displacements unlike before if i got it right.

ive sold my second hand SiR and was thinking baka bumaba nga presyo ng mga sedan pag implement ng new tax xcheme
i mean, i sold it for 480k. pero kung ako nasa status ng bumili, mag brabrand new VIOS na lang ako kaysa second hand. iba parin ang brand new kahit na small displacement
    reliable

I prefer the value based system than the engine size based system coz the car companies will not be forced to market underpowered vehicles anymore. But the new system also has disadvantages, I hope they fix it.

new excise law = low asking price for 2nd hand cars?
