    hi guys!

we will be buying a new car next month but before we do that i have to sell our present car. its in good condition except for the fact that it needs body repair near the right rear wheelwell. there's a small crack and circular depression above it. so what is the better thing to do?

do i have this repaired and then sell at fair market value?
or i don't touch it and sell the car at a cheaper price?

    please help

IMHO, it would be better if you have it repaired anad sell it at a fair market price. If I were to buy something (like a car), I should not have to worry some more about those repairs. There's a bigger chance that potential buyers will consider your unit or even give it a thought although there are some people who would like to do the repairs themselves and will ask for a bargain. Some will even put premium on the good engine condition as against the body condition.

I was able to sell my 91 Galant S/S with minor body and paint jobs but I have to content myself for a much lower selling price.

But again, it still depends on you. Weigh things carefully (cost of repair as against the selling price).

If it were me, I'd check first if buyers would give a reasonalble offer on the vehicle, baka naman dahil lang jan tumawad ng 10k to 20k from the selling price. kung ganun, ipapa repair ko muna.

hi there. i was in the same situation a few months ago. I encountered buyers who like to see the real condition of the car even if there are minor repairs needed. then siguro you can offer to have it fixed if they want. kung minor damage lang naman, then its not that expensive to have it fixed....so di naman siguro kailangan na benta mo at a very low price.

sell * cheaper price. you have to consider too the time you'll spend on repairing. pag pumalpak pa yan repairing scenario, lalo magtatagal.

if you inform the buyer what needs to be repaired, excited pa yan magpa-parepair ng new used car nya. ika nga bargain. all the cars we sold never na namin pinaayos pa, as is basis

tsaka the feeling is lighter and better if you know for yourself that the car that you have just sold has been repaired and wala ng dapat pang intindihin yung buyer.

minor job lang naman yata yan so have it estimated and kung 2k-2.5k nga lang yan, have it repaired na lang - if you have the time. pero if you opt to sell at a lower price at di na ipapa-repair, magpa-estimate ka na rin(libre naman yata yon) para may pangbara ka sa mga barat na buyers(with the quote from the body shop).

it's amazing kung gaano ka babaratin ng ibang buyers dahil lang dyan.

Having damage like that mignt make it a little more difficult to sell the car. Some buyers will overlook minor dents and dings, but a crack will draw their attention.

Try selling it first, anyway. If no one bites at a decent price, then repair it.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

repairing before selling
