Ang mga ideal choices are
2008 Honda FD (problems? ideal price?)
Honda CRV (Anong gen ba maganda dyan ang pasok sa price range?)
Any other ideas para sa car? I came from a Ford Lynx RS

If you don't need the extra space, a sedan will do over a CUV. The Civic FD will be a good choice for a compact car. If you need a more comfortable ride, then go midsize.

midsize like? Saan po ba maganda magtingin tingin ng cars other than sulit?
Midsize - Accord 7th gen (2003-2007), Mazda6 2006-2008 (if kaya sa 400k), Camry 2004 or later, Cefiro A33 (2003-2007). The Accord and Mazda6 will be good choices if you're the one driving.
Good source yung Sulit for used cars kasi marami ads doon (personal seller or buy&sell traders). Pero kung may kakilala ka or kapitbahay na nagbebenta, much easier to check them out.

Common complaint sa 2nd gen CRV is the fuel consumption. Sabi ng officemate ko dati, halos wala daw pinagkaiba yung konsumo sa previous gen Explorer nila. Some would say an FC of around 5 km/L. Puwede rin Xtrail or Tribute 2.3L or Escape 2.3L but I am not sure how good their FC are over the 2nd gen CRV.
Isa pa po palang nakita kong maganda pero mura is yung mazda miata. Ok din po ba sya for everyday car? Any issues po and ano pong magandang model nya?
eto po oh

Dude, I will say this out of.. pure conscience mode lang. The words might hurt, I might be epal, but I believe it warrants a post:
For 350-400k, pick a sensible car that's hassle-free. Let's see your situation..
Out of the 400k, 200k is liquid cash if your situation is the same as back then. Then the rest of the 150-200k will be financed in 24 months. You need a car since some idiot wrecked your Lynx RS and you liquidated it because of the lack of comprehensive insurance on your behalf so you can travel from Laguna to Manila.
You rate pogi cars highly on your list. Wanting a S14, a Miata, a Toyota MRS, and your equivalent. Do you want them? Yes. Do you need them? No. I know everybody wants a fast fun car.. but maintaining one will cost you - not only time, money, experience. You might have the time.. you might have the experience.. but money isn't because you're financing these acquisitions.
Now, gusto ko sana magrecommend ng Vios for practicality's sake. Problema lang, I doubt you'll go for them. It'll be too bland for your taste coming from a Lynx RS. Now all midsize cars are also blacked out -- because part availability and pricing will cost more than you think it would and modifying them will probably prove more of a challenge than your typical compact car.
Now, ayaw mo ng typical car so you went for a Lynx RS. Problem is, nowadays we don't really have dark horses nowadays. Ano gusto mo? Sentra? That'll be lame for that kind of cash.
1. Toyota and Honda will have good secondhand value and will prove to be a hassle to haggle down.
2. Ford TDCis retain their value quite well too.
3. Honda CRVs will cost more than your Civic -- so use the extra for mods and maintenance nalang.
4. For Subic cars, iniisip ko pwede rin cguro bB. Not on a performance perspective but because you can haul stuff with it. Stuff = things... or girls. The latter is better.
When it all boils down.. I'd say go for a Mazda3. Because aside that 3 of your friends have one, it's still a compact car. Because everybody loves Toyota and Honda, Mazda's resale value is pretty low. Part availability isn't that much of a challenge and you got great handling to boot. Get the 2.0L engine variant because you'll be frowning on the 1.6L.
If not for the Mazda3, go for a Civic FD or a Toyota Altis. Maayos ka naman sa mga parts, you can easily source those so even if you purchase a slightly battered version, I think you can maintain it to tip-top shape naman. Unless sanay ka sa mga GT-R, they should be more than enough for your daily driving needs.
Sa totoo lang, I gave you some leeway. If somebody fiscally responsible comes along (like vinj) comes along without much care in the world, he'll tell you: rent a nearby condo where you work -> walk/public transportation -> save up until you have a better cash pool. Oh yeah, less on the chicks din.. mahal magpa-candy :naughty2:
P.S. And if you're in Metro Manila.. PLEASE have comprehensive insurance. This is Metro Manila. That's more than enough reason to have one.
P.S. Best conservative rule of thumb is that... all modifications do not add value to your car. The more you mod, the more hassle it is to dispose of -- not everybody wants a turbocharged <insert car>.
