Kuha na ng dalawang SIR kasya sa budget mo
FD civic you will have a hard time looking because FD civic are priced at 400k and up

Honda Jazz its rear compartment is spacious and has fold flat seats
It is also fuel efficient than your other choice
pwede mo pa isali sa race ganda ng handling expecially the 1st gen

    are you considering other choices
    and what particular year

you can get a AUV,pick-up truck and SUV basing from your budget of 400k

Go with a Civic FD. You can get one for something less than 400k nowadays. If the power of the 1.8L models is not enough for you, maybe you can scout for a 2.0L model that will fit your budget. The Civic FD 2.0L MT is good enough to give the SIR a decent competition in terms of performance.

The SIR is quite overpriced in the resale market. Some are being sold for more than 300k. If you go with a Jazz, get the newer GE models (2009-2013) with the 1.5L iVTEC engines if the budget allows it.

Since you are leaning towards performance, you may want to consider the Ford Focus TDCi. That 2.0L diesel turbo powerplant on it has more than enough power and torque for its small hatchback frame.

Based on you're choices and these requirements ..."fuel efficient, maporma, reliable and madali i-maintain"

Parang Civic VTi fits the bill. Correct me if I'm wrong guys but mas matipid ba yung Civic Vti than an FD kasi the Vti uses a 1.6L Vtec-E engine vs the FD's 18.L (and heavier body).

For me mas maporma Vti / Sir body than an FD.

Mas reliable syempre mas bago pero "simpler" systems have less chance in breaking down and mas madali maintain. Vti has no ABS system, it does not have a drive-by-wire throttle system, mas simple design ng engine supports ng Vti (pero more engine vibration is transmitted), based on info from forums and friends mas bihira masira aircon parts ng Vti (and cheaper too).

I'm also in a hunt for a 2nd hand car but choosing between an FD and a VTi kaya kasama narin sa makikigulo

If only I could shell out around 300K-400k petot I would really buy a 2nd hand FD. Gustong gusto ko lang talaga porma niya at sarap ding pormahan. But that's just me.

Fuel economy eh Jazz ata ang panalo sa choices. Fd for reliability coz of the newer model siguro. Porma at bilis? Go for the S.i.R, hindi ka mag sisisi. For me naman e I will get the S.i.R anytime.

Seriously, VTi at SiR? 15 year old cars? OA ang resale value ng EK Civic. Any old car will inevitably need more repairs than a car half its age.

The FD is actually more efficient than the EK for AT models, and hindi nagkakalayo with the MT, even if the FD has more power.

Jazz is good too but IMO an FD is a better buy in the secondhand market because you get a higher-end car for the same price due to higher depreciation of compacts than subcompacts.

Law of supply and demand. Very popular lalo na sa mga tuners/enthusiasts. Still lots of performance parts mapa brandnew or surplus market. Agree na overpriced siya pero hanggat may bumibili sa ganong presyo, hindi bababa yun.

If you want something reliable, it's best to get something newer. The EK was a successful model, but at this age, many parts are bound to start failing one after the other and that process may go on and on. No problem if you are keeping it just as a backup or hobby vehicle but can be quite a hassle if it is a daily driver. Besides, there are very, very few virgin SiR's left, and even fewer up for sale. Many are overraced, very high mileage, or improperly modified. When driven tamely, the SiR behaves pretty much like a manual VTi, so if you're just gonna use it to putter around town, it's not really worth the extra money for that engine, especially considering that it is quite bereft of features found in much modern cars sold for the same price.

I'd suggest you get the newest and freshest FD your budget will allow.
