Bale, under consideration ko po both 2nd hand sellers and dealers.

    1. totoo po. may senyales kung minsan.. minsan naman ay bigla na lang mamamatay. sabi nga ni yatta, sugal ang segunda manong sasakyan. posible na totoo ang paniniwala ng nagbebenta na "sasakyan na lang".. but that is only as far as what he honestly believes. in truth, even first-hand owners have their cars break down on them, without warning.

    2. if the ownership status is even slightly questionable.. non-original CR.. numbers do not match.. naka-ilang owners na nang hindi napapalitan ang CR.. walk away. the potential headache is in-calculable. you can not win against a car with questionable ownership.. at sa dami ng binebentang segunda mano diayn.. why settle for one with questionable ownership or incomplete documentation?

    3. anyone who has had his car fixed the honest way, will agree with me that that statement is simply, "usually false". if the issues are easy and cheap to fix, as seller alleges, why did the seller not have it fixed himself, and make more money by asking for a higher selling price? bayan sellers have talyer connections.. they can usually effect a repair, cheaper than what you and i can.

there is a saying.. "no one sells his car because it runs too well".
and very few sellers sell their car because they need the space and not the money.

alas.. with your stated budget of 60K, a car that sells at that price, will... almost guaranteed... have expensive issues to address....

It really is more practical to buy a used car but I think you'll have difficulty owning a car considering your maximum budget of P60k. You also have to consider the numerous costs owning a car entails and not just the upfront payment for the unit: annual registration, PMS and gas are only the basics. I'm not sure if insurance would still accept very old cars but you need to stash funds in case you get into an accident. Do not expect to be compensated if you get into an accident with a PUV or motorcycle. Worst case scenario, ikaw pa ang magbabayad. That's why my Dad always tells me, malaking responsibilidad ang pagdadala ng sasakyan.

I couldn't agree more. I don't think you can buy a well maintained car at that amount. Even if you chance upon one, it's too old and would probably give you wear and tear problems.

I will not even consider buying a car with issues on its papers no matter how dirt cheap it is.

My Mom forced me to sell my 96 Corolla in 2014 because it was too old. She wouldn't buy me a new car unless I sold it. It did have exterior issues. I did not bother to have the dings and scratches fixed anymore as it was my battle car BUT I'm confident that my car will not give the buyer any headache, it would reflect badly on my character if I sold a car with issues and I made sure everything was addressed before I sold it. I had the AC repaired and got a new battery. The car was never flooded with extremely fresh interior, registration was up to date, gas was full tank and surrendered the duplicate keys, tools and owner's manual. All functions when I bought the car were working except the factory alarm when I sold it. Kung matino yung sasakyan the buyer cannot expect a "good price" on his perspective.

I still think the AE101 is one of Toyota's best models. We got mine for P500k+ in cash 20 yrs ago and I still see a lot selling it at P100k+ Maybe the TS can consider that car

Although mine was "sasakyan na lang", I was afraid na abutan ako ng electrical issues because of its age. I guess that also convinced me to sell my beloved car. It makes me feel guilty sometimes because that car was nothing but good to me. I know it is serving its new owner well now.

A/C system is gagawin is around 15-18k.

is that 10K for burning, po? exclusively for the car?

my monthly gas bill is 2K. my office is only 6 km away from the house. i seldom go to the mall. (compute your probable gas bill, po.)
company parking is free for me. what about yours, po?
i have my own secure, home garage.
annual car registration plus required TPL costs me 3.5K. comprehensive insurance.. let's say 20K annually.
pms is about 2-3K every time (once a year for me).
my car is relatively new, so i don't expect repair bills in the near future (3 years or so).

the above alone, already costs 50K a year.
a fertile imagination can easily generate an additional 50K (4.2K a month).

if having a car will make commuting to/from work and/or school more manageable, then having a car that you can honestly afford, may be "justifiable".

now, if you are eyeing a used car for 200K, in all likelihood, you will want to have something in it, fixed asap. exactly how much it will cost, i have no idea.... when i bought a 10 year old car, i spent an additional 15K for required fixing, to make it safe for driving. and i still believe i was lucky with that bill.

Kung ang savings na to e nagagawa mo na at hindi plano pa lang i think doable.

Pero ung first month mo or so pagkakuha mag ready ka ng more than 10k definitely hehe. Cost of car + paperworks + pagawain/tune up + quick detail siguro.
