Walang pinili. Mapa Mercedes Benz o BMW ay lubog. Sa Provident village marami ang natangay dun. Nakapalibot kasi ang Marikina river sa village na ito.

Kung bibili ka ba ng ganitong sasakyan, marami ba ang magiging problema?

Cost of repairing a flooded Merc or BMW luxury sedan? Try a cool half-million to a million bucks worth of electronics and electrical components (if it's a higher end model) this will include replacement or repair of multiple ECUs (one for the engine, usually one for the transmission... and numerous sub-modules for subsystems like climate control, etcetera), seat adjustment motors, window and door motors, the expensive leather and carpetting, various sensors (BMW O2s? Around 15-25k a pop, if I recall right) and the like. Unless it was repaired by the dealership before you bought it... forget it. And even afterwards, you'll experience small, random failures that will cost you from 50,000 to 150,000 a pop... months after the flood.

Wait for the previous owner to fix everything, then buy it... but only buy it if you're getting a hefty discount to cover expenses you might incur over future electrical and electronic failures. And only if you're stinking, filthy rich.

Unang una malaking problema dahil ang Mercedes Benz at BMW ay mahal ang piyesa at hindi mo pa alam magiging problema nito sa darating na panahon. At mahirap bumili ng sasakyan na nalubog na kanya nga ipinagbibili kahit mura dahil pagpinaayos mo ito para ka na rin bumili ng second hand na kotse.

Question is, can you distinguish or know if a certain car has been submerged in water last saturday without the owner admitting it to you? Let's say the owner fixed it already, pero what if there might be problems popping out after a week, month or year from the day you bought it?

Mahirap na, kung bibili ng sasakyan ngayon, ipagpaliban mo muna kaysa sa magsisi din sa bandang huli.

I guess waiting six months to a year should be kind of safe... it's enough time for ma ny of the niggling electrical faults to manifest... unless the car is parked that whole time.

Rust is a more difficult thing to predict... pero basta walang previous damage, the rustproofing should hold.

Mga peeps help naman para sa mga first time na bibili ng second hand car. Paano ba maa-avoid na makabili ng isang water-submerged car?

Difficult. You can check in the odd corners or nooks and crannies where a power sprayer or washcloth can't reach... but if they did a thorough job, it will be almost impossible to tell unless you rip the seats and dashboard apart looking for mud in the foam and insulation.

If they do a really great job of restoration, then the car will run perfectly fine, anyway. Your only worry is that wet areas that were not fully cleaned will develop into rust poockets in the future.

Oh... and that sensors that have been dried out instead of replaced will burn out... or some hidden bit of wiring will short out... or...

Mahirap talagang tumingin ng 2nd hand car ngayon hehe.

How about 5 years later? Tapos tingin ka ng mga 2010 up model cars, ayun ay kung makakapaghintay ka or at least may car kang ginagamit as of now.
