new old stock? no. i do not recall any car manufacturer, ever doing that here.
but newly manufactured old design... yes. and at brand new price, too.

These cars are from the unsold inventory. It’s like a fire sale of sorts.

Honda did that before with the Accord, Pilot, and Legend. Accords were offered at 500k discount and it was much more with the Pilot and Legend.

VW offered the Touareg at more than 1M discount. For the Jetta and Golf, it was around 200k discount.

Subaru still sells the previous gen Forester (2013-2018) in 2.0i-P and XT trims with discounts up to 300k.
