P500K budget for car

Hi,

My father wants to buy a new car, he actually wants a brand new car and definitely seems to like Nissan Sentra, since it is close to P500k. This will serve as a second car, we have a Crosswind and an FX. If ever, I would like to suggest to him that we convert the Sentra to LPG(though I don't know of all the effects, can someone please discuss this?). I really want the accent hatchback crdi that I think will be released soon, problem is, I'm not sure if he is willing to wait and extend the budget.


I think at P500k budget, there is something better at 2nd hand, than choose a brand new Sentra. I think he will accept newer than 2007 models. I am not specific about brands and models, I need something that is very frugal, durable, cheap and easy to find part, etc.; in other words, I want to get most of the money we will spend.

What sort of car do you want? Subcompact? Compact? van? CUV? SUV? Hanggang dun nalang ba ang budget or +- yun? For brand new subcompact, I suggest the Accent 1.4GL or a 2nd hand Honda Jazz 1.5. And then, you may want to consider the ES Civic 2.0, 2004 Hyundai Starex GRX CRDi, Nissan X-Trail, 1st generation Hyundai Tucson, or if you, like us, are very maalaga towards your cars and do not mind the controversies surrounding the Isuzu Trooper (ours didn't give us many headaches), its also within your budget.

Wag naman lagi Vios. Ang dami dami na nun eh! Taxi Vios, police car Vios, most of the subcompacts on the road Vios... Once I saw five Vios units parked side by side outside a Starbucks outlet, and all of them are 1.3E's! Pwede din siguro yung 2nd hand na Hyundai Accent 1.5VGT. Hanapin ang top of the line GLS variant para may all power amenities, foglights and alloys.

Interested ako sa Focus HB diesel.. magkano po kaya 2nd hand diesel nun?? 2007 model
pati na rin sa jazz.. di ko nga lang alam kung ano model and variant ang the best..
pwede na rin ang altis sakin, yung bago, di ko lang alam kung abot ang budget..

let's say max of 700k for budget pero wag naman po sana paabutin dun..

Diesel cars tend to have a more expensive maintenance compared to their gasoline counterparts. ;)

with the advent of fully synthetic CRDi oils, this isn't quite as valid as it used to be. hehe.

We're going the right path.. My father is thinking more about the focus and the accent now(diesel lover).. But still has sentra in mind every now and then, 499k lang daw..

Yes! Pareho pala kami ng isipan sa erpats mo. Kapag mataasan pa ang budget Focus TDCi 6 speed M/T! Tapos dagdag ng konti para idala sa Speedlab for some suspension and engine tuning and a Unichip.

wag nyo masyado isipin yung pms ng crdi almost same lang yan ng gas except for 2 liters more.. yung mga oils na multi grade ngayon eh compatible na for both gas and diesel engine.. unlike dati magkaiba talaga...

kung diesel sedan mas ok ang focus.. maporma at mas maluwag.. yung accent ok din kaya lang parang hindi class yung porma nya eh.. kung yung kia rio sana may diesel variant mas maganda kaso wala eh..

^^the diesel version is likely going to be over budget...

the old diesel version used to be north of 800k...
