Hmmm.. palaisipan pa yan kung gano kalaki ang budget, hehehe.

It all boils down on how you want to modify such rig. As most people do first is attach bigger mud tires that can fit in the fenders which will require you to have bigger engines. Second is lifting it up to avoid those fender scrubbing from the big tires, suspension lifts and body lifts are your options. Third that you will think about is to gain more traction by installing differential lockers. After some trailing and circus acts with the vehicle, you'd want to protect your investment with steel bumpers, fender bars and skid plates.

To sum it all up, all I can think of is a Nissan Patrol. :D

    depende sa budget yan.

a suzuki samurai will be at less than 200K i think. probably, an old Land Cruiser 40-series falls in this range too.

a late-model suzuki vitara 1.6 (gas) can be had for less than 300K i think. so can a 1st-generation Pajero and perhaps a 60-series Cruiser.

a new suzuki jimny 1.3 (gas) costs less than 600K.

an older (1993-1995) GQ Nissan Patrol Safari 4.2L would cost you 450K-600K.

a late-model "Tonka" pajero 2.5L 4x4 (1996 to 1998) will cost you about 600K-800K. at this price, you could gamble with a fully-loaded right-hand drive JDM Land Cruiser 80 too.

a Ford F150 would be in this range too.

a blister-fender pajero (1999/2000) 2.8L 4x4 will set you back 900K-1.1M. a late-model Hilux 4x4 is in this range as well, if im not mistaken.

an isuzu trooper 4x4 would be priced similarly to a pajero, about 800K-1.0M for a 1999 or 2000 model.

a later edition GQ Nissan Patrol Safari (1996-2000) would be at 600K to 1.0M.

a local-release Land Cruiser 80-series is still way up there at 900K to as high as 1.3M; this, for a 1995 to 1997 model. rare but highly coveted Dubai-spec models are even higher.

a 2001-2003 Nissan GU Patrol 3.0 would come in at 1.3M-1.6M... add 100K-200K to convert it to 4x4. on the other hand, the same cash could buy a 1997 Range Rover 4.6HSE.

a local-release Land Crusier 100-series would ring in at a minimum of 2.0M.

a zuk samurai is the best for those on a budget..medyo jurassic lang nga sa ride, technology, looks. but in trails, gets the job done. pwede rin gawing flatbed ang sammy or pickup. i personally like the flatbed look..fogi!

vitara - modern looks, creature comforts softer ride than the samurai and still able to go in trails

Yes. Maganda ang Suk Samurai..get the flat bed type..seen it in action..I want one.

Or..get the Vitara..It follows the Patrol on the Trail.

naku, tinakot nyo ata sa mga reply ninyo.

i think the first question, even before budget, is what he will use it for? kung pang laruan lang talaga or like for most of us, daily driver tapos weekend warrior (actually, wala pa ako sa weekend warrior)

as for the landcruiser, i really love the lc 80, pero i don't think that i can ever afford the orig LHD. siguro gen 2.5 na lang na pajeo na manual, nasa 950,000 na lang ata ito ngayon.

garyq::: Haha! Yun nga ang inaalalayan ko muna, sinabi nya limited budget pero upto what point or how much? Baka kasi yung budget ng 22y/o naman eh, nakatira sa Dasma, Makati? So I would assume he should have atleast 2M for it.

Sa sobrang daming pagpipilian, we need more inputs on how will the vehicle be used? Do you want it as a dedicated offroad toy for trailing and racing only or do you plan to drive around malls with it?
