    500,000 cars sold in PH in 2025? That’s CAMPI’s new target | TopGear PH

    CAMPI and TMA reported that 37,604 units were sold in January 2025, which marks a 10.4% increase as compared to January 2024. If the industry can sustain this momentum, then the 500,000 sales target should be well within reach.

    ^500K... one of those might belong to a friend, a neighbor, a colleague, a sibling etc

    then maybe a friend, a neighbor, a colleague, a sibling etc sold that car...

    let be happy for them.

    I always tell family and friends. before you complain about traffic, may motor ka sa parking, may Grab ka sa phone etc

    Have you considered using it para makabawas naman sa cars sa road

    I don't think using Grab reduces the number of cars on the road. From the time I book it until the time it drops me off there's +1 car on the road. When I book again to go home there's +1 car on the road, same as if I had brought my own car.

    What it does is reduce the number of cars parked at the mall or office by -1. But at the same time when a booking is done it increases the number of cars loitering in the area by +1.

    private vehicle.
    they're on the road 1-2 hours in the morning, and 1-2 hours in the late afternoon or evening.l

    for-hire vehicle,
    they're on the road, perhaps 12/7 or 24/7.

    if i go grab, the road is simply exchanging my car for the grab car. but the number of cars on the road remains the same.

    what we sorely need is mass transport. one vehicle, many people inside. PUJ, bus, rail.

    motorcycle?
    i have served in the emergency room.
    so no.

    problem is that 99% of riders in our roads do not have proper gears and use a >5,000 helmet.

    99% of those riders even remove their "safety gear" when it rains!

    you have to gear up for the ride.

    I'm not saying Grab reduces traffic. pero just like a taxi, its still "Public Transport" na one can use if he doesn't have a car.

    I think their point is that mass transit is the solution to the traffic problem. Public transport while it covers taxis and Grab (in a way) is the most private of the public transport and is not considered mass transit.
