the first thing you have to check is the engine, its an old car and timing belt needs to be replaced together with the fan belts and water pump.

another is the suspension, yung civic natin medyo mabilis masira yung pangilalim na stab link and trailing arm bushing. ung akin annual replacement pa nga.

cooling system, usually for old cars... yung radiator minsan may impurities na, lalo na kung hindi drain ng mayari ever since.

drain all fluids (tranny, brakes, power steering,)

kung may cash pa extra, undercoating and interior detail.

    hope this helps!

Pero your right! At kay jergwapo, if aint broke dont fix.

Before you got the car dapat you had a PPI done. A PPI is a pre-purchase-inspection. Your trusted mechanic should be able to give you a run down of what needs to be replaced so you have an idea.

It's also a good idea to have the engine and underbody cleaned properly, that way your mechanic won't have a hard time spotting something bad.

Have a major tune-up done if you want peace of mind. Actually maganda rin suggestion ni Archie, especially if the car did not come with any service history.

    hihi

i like to keep a car kasi in tip top form kaya yun yung advise ko. pwede rin dahan dahanin yung check and repairs.

    1st engine
    2nd cooling system
    3rd suspension
    4th upgrades and kalokohan

ako rin i just purchased a 2nd hand car recently (96 civic vti) and honestly wala ako mashado alam sa mga kelangan ipa-check, but yes i want to make sure my car is in good shape.

san ba ok magpa 'major tune-up' and how much does it usually cost? kung ang papacheck ko lang e ung suspension and cooling system as mentioned by sir Archie, san ba pwede ipa-check un? does it cost you to just have it checked if these things are still in good condition?

^^ yung major tune up... ang critical diyan yung tappet valve adjustment. only a few know how to do this right. kila speedyfix and hongly ang alam ko na malupit talaga sa ganon. it cost around 600 to 900 ang tappet alone and kailangan palamigin muna yung engine before doing this. either of the 2 magailng talaga na shop and they can habdle cooling inspection as well

with the suspension naman, kay motorcraft ok din talaga.

the check up usually do not cost anything, bibigyan ka lang ng quotation on the items need to be replaced or repaired.

    hope this helps!

2nd hand cars, what needs to be replaced and checked?
