Mga bossing! Planning to buy my first car, any advice regarding this if it’s a good buy?
And which one would you choose?

    Secondhand
    Mazda 3 2.0 Hatchback
About 12t Mileage. Soul red color.
    850,000 po benta ng owner

I applied for financing thru security bank.
770t po yung appraised value nila.
    20,580 for 36 months = 740,880
    740,880 + 272600 dp + 23t chattel = 1,036,480 total payment in 3 years

    Brand new Mazda 2V+ hatchback
Price: 1,015,000 (plus 50t here in cebu)
    20,209 for 60 months = 1,212,540
    Dp all in = 79,000
    Total = 1,291,540 in 5 years
I already computed as well the total if it’ll be bought at bank rates with 20% dp, halos less than 10t lng naman difference kasi magbayad pa ng chattel at insurance. So i think mas okay na ung low dp na all in.

Does the convenience of buying a brand new car outweigh the savings sa second hand?
I’m a kind of guy na usually takot magbitaw ng perang malalaki so enticing din ung 79t dp sakin. But paying less but getting more po ung mazda 3.

Thoughts? Any inputs will be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Well nothing beats a brandnew car. Also the 2 is a nimbler car. Also wary of taking out a mortgage on a used car.

On the other hand, the 3 has more power, more toys and likely still has Yojin 3.

Thing sir is, pre tax increase same na kasi ung toys ni mazda 2, basically buying a more expensive car for the same value last year.

And si mazda 3 sir isang beses nlng daw po si yojin.

Just looking at their prices, since d ko naman kaya icash silang dalawa parang win po kasi si mazda 3 kasi 3yrs lng sya hehe

If you have to choose one which is it sir?
    Appreciate the input

Heck, I ain't putting down 1.2M to buy a subcompact hatch. Being open to used cars, 1.2M can get me a fairly new midsize SUV already. It would be a practical choice too, what with the terrible weather as of late.

Strictly between the two choices, I'd choose the used 3. That is, of course, if fuel consumption is not a big factor. It is still a 2.0L gasoline with an automatic after all, even with all that Skyactiv hype.

    Thanks for the input sir.
Factors that make me lean towards the mazda 3 would be the savings, size and its toys. And undoubtedly its better looking than the 2

    Mazda 3- 1
    Mazda 2 -0

Should I squeeze the seller’s price pa po or di na ako talo dito if ever?

Check out the market price of the car and see if the asking price is reasonable. Of course being a used car, you can always ask for a discount. Malay mo, ibigay. Pang gas na rin. Besides, Mazda's aren't exactly known for their resale values.

    Mazda 2
    - Fresh interior = mabango
    - New tires and suspensions = less worries
    - Fresh paint = mas presentable
    - could be of higher resale value 3 years down the road
    - warranty coverage

    Mazda 3

    Almost 3 years old
12k kms only. Almost bnew pa din
    Paint can be detailed
    * 12k kms im sure tires and suspension is goid as new
Still under warranty.. so check the vehicle and claim warranty if ever..

So for me Mazda 3 it is.. hatch back + soul red is a win

The TS can also haggle more to lower price unlike sa bnew

Mag brand new ka na lang since i-loan mo din naman, pero wag Mazda 2. Just go for the facelifted Vios/Yaris/Jazz/City.

3 years na yung Mazda 3 and pag may nasirang part dyan yari ka. Inquire ka magkano assembly ng headlight and taillights, you'll be surprised.

Totally agree. A jazz is a better proposition given first time car owner si ts.

Ang mura naman. Yung X-Trail lang ang malapit sa katotohanan and yet napakamura parin. O di kaya ay downpayment lang yan?

Wala namang code 12 ang lisensya. Siguro ang sinasabi mo 1 and 2? In that case, for motorcycle and vehicle up to 4500kgs.

A low mileage Mazda3 vs a new Mazda2? It's like being offered a low mileage TOTL Civic over a new Jazz. No question, I'd go with the higher tier car. The same position I will follow if to choose between an Altis vs a Vios/Yaris.

Aside from being just new, a lower tier car has nothing else to offer against a higher tier car except maybe the perceived fuel consumption. Maintenance and warranty will be the deal breaker of sorts in this comparison but there is still another year of warranty coverage on the 3.

With the Mazda3, you get a better engine, roomier interior, and better features. The Mazda2 may be lighter and smaller but the Mazda3 is no slouch in terms of handling and performance (among the best in the compact category). In terms of aesthetics, the 3 has more oomph than the 2.

My best suggestion is for you to test drive both cars. Nothing beats the feeling of how the car responds under your control. No one else can tell you about the sensation of a car's response within your way of driving.
