Low mileage or well maintained?

In buying a second hand car, what is more important to consider?
mileage or maintenance?
Given the same year model? what will you prefer: a car which has a high mileage (say above 40t km) but well maintained or a car which has low mileage (say below 20t) but is not as well maintained..

I'll take the vehicle that has higher mileage but is well-maintained.

Remember, mileage can be altered easily if wanted so you shouldn't be really relying on JUST this when shopping for a 2nd hand vehicle.

as in may mga sira yung low mileage? siyempre dun na sa medyo high mileage na walang problema. better kung may service records at yung high mileage niya is mostly highway runs.

You can't beat good maintenance IMHO.

Kahit sabihin na nating nadala sa racetrack ang kotse o nadala sa Pagudpod every month...as long as the car's had its vital fluids replaced accordingly and still runs well, I would not hold that against the car.

Cars nowadays can run a long, long time. With proper maintenance and care, 300,000 km shouldn't even be an issue.

Yup.

Not to mention the fact that i wouldn't consider 40,000kms+ as high mileage at all. Most modern engines still keep their power and economy well past 100,000 kms (and any problem after that is usually just electronics).

Mileage, you can fake. Condition, you can't. Go for the car in better condition... always.

This is exactly my dilemma. Pero pano kung di na makuha yung exterior through detailing? Say kelangan ng repainting... May nakita kasi ako 11k mileage, yung interior, engine at ride are really ok.. pero di naalagaaan yung paint kasi nilalagyan ng cover kahit madumi na, so nag fade.
