Is it really good for 3 years?

e.g. if I register October 2005 with plate ending "0", am I registered until October 2008?

It's self-explanatory. Nonetheless, better be sure than sorry. So, if there is slightest doubt, ASK. Sabi nga ng boss ko, never assume - always ask.

2005 is 1st year
2006 is 2nd year
upto oct 2007 is the 3rd year

Oct 2005 to oct 2007 is only 2 years!!!

If you will register this month, say October, and you chose, say plate ending 6, your registration is valid until June of 2008. You will be issued stickers indicating your registration for the years 2005, 2006, & 2007. In this case, your 2007 registration is valid up to June of 2008 as earlier mentioned since your plate number ends 6. Thus, Oct 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-June 2008 confirms your registration for 3 years.

This is where the problem is. Oct 2005 to Jun 2008 is less than 3 years.

LTO mandates a MINIMUM of 3 years of registration, so according to the chart you'll have to pay for 3.75 years. In which case the registration will expire June 2009.

i.e. 3.75 years is 3 years and 9 months.
Oct 2005 to June 2009 is 3 years and 9 months.

Am I correct? I don't wanna ASSume...

parang ung noon, ganito ang scene: (fictional lang po itong sa akin, pero baka may alam kayong totong nangyaring similar to this, un po ay coincidence lang..)

bumili ako ng brand-new na sasakyan last march..then i requested for an ending of either 3, 4 or 5..,nung dumating ang plako, kamalasan, #4 ang ending..... e mag-aapril na! so no choice, diba, rehistro agad...parang nasayang ung rehistrong binayaran na kasama sa pagbili mo ng kotse,right?

so same din yan siguro sa 3-year registration ng LTO...

teka, sa brand-new lang ba ito applied?
