Really depends on what your cousin needs. The best you can get with your budget is a Corolla GLi AE101. The price is just within your budget. You can choose from a late 96 model (230-240K) if you find its performance adequate already, or go for a 93 or 94 version (190-220K) and get a 20-valve engine if you want more speed.

If you want a Honda, the most you can get is a Civic LXi. Yung mga VTi nasa 300plusminus.

Marami dyan... kahit later model Mazdas or Nissan Sentra meron... kung hindi sya picky sa brand or porma, dun ka na sa latest you can get in good condition of course.

Go for either the 1997-1999 model:

    > Mitsubishi Lancer
    > Mazda 323 (my personal preference)
    > Nissan Sentra

any of those that are still in good condition is a good buy. Hondas & Toyotas wouldn't really qualify (unless you are talking of 1996 & below models) because of their high resale value.

Yun 1990 na corolla 1.6 ok din if you can find one na ok pa yun body. mga 110k lang yun, you have 100k more for modifications. Dami pa nasa kalsada ngayon na ganun model na maganda.

Suzuki Esteem station wagon. Sa 200k baka makakuha ka na nung top of the line A/T model. More versatile than a sedan. Malaki cargo area, may underfloor storage compartments, built in bucket for roadside emergencies, rear wipe/wash, roof rails, power windows, locks, steering, decent 4 speaker stereo, seatbelts on all seating position, CBU from Japan. Engine same as Vitara 1.6.

Looks like a 3/4 scale Volvo S40 to boot.

I suggest NOT to get the Mazda 323 Familia because of one fact, it guzzles gasoline like there is not tomorrow.
