June 4th, 2013 01:07 AM #1heres my current setup: jbl front and rear speakers. kicker 10 inch sub. jbl amp and pioneer hu ( avh 1550) to power everything....
can you recommend audio settings for punchy but not overpowering bass and clear audio.
here are a sample of things you can tweak...
Subwoofer setting 1: Off, Normal, Reverse (???)
Subwoofer setting 2: 50-125 Hz ; -24 to +6
EQ setting 1: Low (-6 to +6) Mid (-6 to +6) Hi (-6 to +6)
EQ setting 2: Low 40-160 Hz ; Q1W,Q2W,Q1N,Q2N
Mid 200-2,000 Hz ; Q1W,Q2W,Q1N,Q2N
High 3,000-12,000 Hz ; Q1W,Q2W,Q1N,Q2N
Loudness: Low, Medium, High
Bass: 0 to +6
SRC LV Adjust: "SLA 0 to +4"
High Pass Filter: 0 to 125 Hz

There's no "universal" tuning as the car itself affects the frequency response. This is also the reason why you can have the exact same setup in a car but once you throw it in another car, it can sound vastly different.
I have no idea what Q1W,Q2W,Q1N,Q2N means.
The general "curve" that's most pleasing to people is a slight hump in the bass, a flat mid, and recessed treble. For stock systems, I like a "U-curve" with a hump on the bass and treble (because alot of OEM speakers suck at their highs).
