Hi all! Been a while since I last posted. Does anyone know and recommend a good quality speaker glue where I can purchase locally? May maliit na punit yun subs ko and I don't want to go to the trouble of changing the whole surround or replace the subs. Yun punit nasa rubber surround lang naman and maliit lang if that helps. TIA!

    in the olden days,
speaker glue was easily available in raon.
perhaps the audio accessories shops have some.

Raon is still Raon. Haven't changed much in over 30 years. Nawala lang yung mga mix-tape dubbers at dumami na yung mga tiangge. But relevant to the OP, meron pa rin mga nag re-repair ng speakers sa banketa. Just ask around.

I don't know the extent of the damage but, I suggest you have it assessed. Kung ang cause nung punit is marupok na yung foam, bass frequencies will just likely cause it to tear-up again after the spot repair. It's probably just better to refoam it. This is especially true if the tear was caused by age, not accidental.

Try rugby adhesive. I would do it right by replacing the rubber surround. It’s pretty straightforward.

Thank you for the reminder. I have the subs with me for quite some time now and I guess I just have to accept the fact that it's old and a quick band-aid solution won't really solve the problem. I don't think I could live with the fact that my subs wouldn't be original anymore if ever I decide to replace the rubber surround edge with a genetic one. Wala naman kase ako nakikitang repair kit for the model of my subs, baka ganoon din yun gastos if I will just simply by a new one. That being said, mag tsatsaga muna ako mag hanap nang glue, hehe!

Yup naka hanap na tayo nang reason hehe! Hindi na muna siguro, wala pang budget. Let's see where that glue idea would lead. Anyway, it's a Image Dynamics IDQ12 v3 subs. on a 1CUFT sealed enclosure.

Image Dynamics make good speakers. Oks na oks yan in a small sealed enclosure. Even a slim 10” sub in a 1 cubic foot enclosure sounds really good for an SQ setup.

Used this speaker glue on an Atlantic Technology main speaker ... < Php 300 ... buy the 100 ml ... did the job fixing the rubber surround that was detached from the cone ... USE ONLY speaker glue when repairing speakers ... they have properties specifically made for speakers ... speaker rubber surrounds are also available ... YouTube has several DIY speaker repair videos ...
