Not 100% sure but i think it can work. Your amp, if you have one will but at half the power output. So even if it works, its not ideal.
Home speakers are typically 8 ohms while car speakers and amps are normally 4 ohms. So your amp will see an 8 ohm load and power output will be halved.
I remember a friend of mine back then in High School: The year was 1995 and the ride is a 1981 Toyota Corolla DX. My friend wanted his sounds to go "boom-boom" so he took the speakers from their home stereo system (yung malalaking "old school" type) and placed it in his trunk, used an el-cheapo amplifier and alas! May "boom-boom" na sya! hahaha!
But seriously, he took them off after about two months when he was able to save enough cash to buy a Targa Sub.
same as russpogi's, i have a friend with her toy car named 'freaky' an 81 Mirage. was sold to her for only 10k. she just traded a celfone for it. tas bara bara nalang ginamit. no rear brakes (it screeches when braking), home speakers literally (actually works), matress for rearseats... hehehe i miss that car.
pwede yan.
yung sounds ko sa garahe namin, my old alpine HU + 2 set of speakers from my old sony mini-component.
I know someone who solved that problem with impedance mismatching.
When he fitted 8Ω speakers in his car, he also installed his mini-compo stereo under the dashboard. And for more boom-boom, he used his desktop pc's active sub.
Buti na lang hindi sinama yung turntable.
hi mga sirs, makisuyo lang po...
what can u say about this: i have a spare altec lansing sub kasi sa bahay (1st gen in wood box pa, it is the 2.1 type, kaso lang hndi na gumagana kasi yun 2 monitor cube speakers nya that's why). i'm planning to use this active sub sana to go with my stock set of speakers (99 civic).
can this be possible?
Pwede naman ... as long as you're satisfied with the sound and look.
Yun nga lang, you have to feed it at line-level from your head unit. Kung wala there are adaptors that convert speaker-level signals to line-level ... but it kinda defeats the objective re: costs.
You also have to figure out a way to remotely switch the sub, or else you'll have to turn it on/off manually. As for the power source, if that's the same as the ACS45.1 you can just bypass the internal power supply (220vAC-to-12vDC) and hook it straight to 12vDC.
just check that parameter. pag di 4 ohm wag mo gamitin sa auto baka madamay pa HU mo..
