Bigla na lang nagkaroon ng humming sound sa stereo ko na sumasabay sa RPM ng makina. The higher you rev, the higher the pitch of the humming sound. Any ideas to eliminate this?

Ride-on ako dito sa thread na to. I experienced the same for my civic ride. Pero it happens only when I tuned to AM station especially when I'm passing through underpass or in between buildings along ayala avenue. Help...
Had my alternator checked and it was working fine. What I really need is to identify the real culprit dito.
It could come from a number of sources. You might have problem with your ground loops and/or EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). Roughly defined, EMI are magentic waves picked-up by your mobile audio cables from the voltage that is running through your wiring system
Kung ground loop, one of two things: a.) baka maraming components ang gumagamit ng i-isang ground wire or b.) manipis yung ground wire. To solve problem A, kung may ampli ka at other audio add-ons, i-hiwalay mo ng ground wiring: one grould wiring for each. Mas maganda ung i-ground mo directly dun sa metal ng vehicle frame. Kung ang problem is B, palitan mo ng mas makapal ng groud wire. But recommendation is a combination of both. Eto ang nang-yari sa ride ko.
Kung EMI, eto ang mga pwede mong gawin: A.) you can re-route your power wires, usually the 12+ volt wire and ignition wire, away from your audio source and attach them to unused slots sa fusebox mo. B.) old school approach: you can try wrapping your audio equipment in heavy-duty aluminum foil. Aluminum foil could reflect EMI's back. For this to work, kailangan may insulation ka betwee the foil and your audio equip. C.) use aliminum wire cover to cover your high-end audio wires. Halos similar to sa mga pipe covers and can be bought sa hardware. Medyo mahal nga lang. D.) install a relay between your power source and your audio equip.
'Hope this helps.
Oh, I forgot to mention a very cheap but non-elegant solution: bumili ka ng noise suppressor from either Raon or Banawe. I think yung cheapest (Dai-ichi) is nasa mga P 250. Get one for your head unit then one for your ampli. Mga tig-10W or 15W pwede na.
The bad part about it is that biglang lang lumabas. Dati kasi, for more than 5 years, ok naman ang sounds ko. No estatek. Bigla lang lumabas ito last week.
Ganyan yung sa ride ko dati. After a couple of years na working hokey, tinopak. 'Nga lang, ang naging problem is young effect ng ground loop, kaya pina-hiwahiwalay ko ang ground wires at kinapalan ko. To make sure, nilagyan ko ng noise suppressors. Ngayon, no matter how I rev the engine, no noise.
ADDED:
Pwede din na loose your ground wires mo or may corrosion na.

Static siguro yan, also check your gain settings baka masyadong mataas, check mo din yung Super Bass, baka masyadong mataas, ganyan din sakin nakalagay sa 12Db, binabaan ko nawala na yung static. BTW what amp are you using?
palagay ko sira na yung capacitor sa loob nang either HU or AMP mo.... yung main supply line kasi nang mga car electronics may R-C circuit..which is essentialy a noise suppressor para ma eliminate yung alternator whine![]()
I totally agree! but then they would have to open the HU. Better have it checked with the service people at the manufacturer.Originally Posted by Zdre_Wulf
