My current Clarion HU has no MP3-playback capability, so i'm chosing between these two as replacement. DEH-P7750MP is around P13K and CDA-9830 is around P14K...depending on the shop, but basically di sila nagkakalayo ng presyo. I'm just going to replace my headunit, using stock speakers. In the future i plan on getting a good amp and a sub, and upgrade the stock speakers, for SQL setup. So it is important that the HU is ready to take on my future upgrades.

I really need more input on their differences(from your experiences), aside from the voltage output(2v vs 4v), i-pod compatibility, power output, displays(OEL, etc). Which is quicker reading MP3s & CDRW? Parts/service availability? And any other small details you don't usually see from the brochures but rather learn/experience through actual usage.

Also, if you think there are better choices besides the two, in that price range(2nd-hand/slightly used included), please let me know as well.

    Many thanks!

me too. bias ako sa 9830 because i am using one right now. compared to pioneer hu of my friends (same price range) mas lamang ang alpine sa SQ. feature wise mas lamang ang pioneer esp with their display. its up to u if u prioritize the looks or the sound.

    jas my dos sentimos

thanks caloyski & wingman. i'm actually leaning on the 9830 as well. next higher model kasi for the 7750 is the 8600 series at sobrang layo ng price na. BUT..i'll probably save up a bit to get the 9833 instead. I read it has better built-in x-over feature than the 9830/31. Plus reviews from Crutchfield.com are amazing!

yup.. pero isa-isa lang muna men...HU muna...then unti-unti yong amp/sub/speakers... baka makahalata ang dept. of budget sa bahay...

basta dapat before the long vacation nakabit na, para di naman boring byahe papuntang probinsya

    up!

i have the same dilemma. would appreciate all inputs

    additional questions:

    1. is it true that it is difficult to see the display in the 9830 during daylight? reviews at crutchfield.com were almost unanimous in this aspect.

    2. is it true that alpines are less user friendly than pioneer HUs?

    1. hmmm...personally havent seen the display of the 9830 ..pero that would depend on a lot of things. . .where the HU is located and kung may tint yung car/windshield.

kung sa bandang lower area ng center console, hindi siguro mahirap makita. . pero kung sa bandang taas, baka. .

    2. i personally found it more difficult to use the higher end alpines (9835, 7998) kesa mga 9827. .my ex-HU. .sobrang dali gamitin. sa pioneer, mas direct to the point nga. . ...i would say its true.

Hey April_Ryan! I have a reply on your post in KAC. Anyway, my 2 cents... from what i've read and learned so far(sorry no actual experience), for the price range of the 9830, i'd get the Alpine any day. If i can get hold of a 9833, much better. The only closer match to the 9830 from Pioneer is the 7750MP(P13+K), then ang susunod na is the 8650MP(P21+K), too far na. The problem is these Alpines that we're considering are currently out of stock AFAIK except for 9827.
Do you know of any shop that have these Alpines in stock(9830/31/33)? Otherwise, i'll post my next choice...
And btw, the display in daylight wouldn't stop me from picking up the 9830...

9833 is out of stock but assuming i can source a brandnew unit from abroad, which would you guys recommend: Alpine CDA-9833 or Pioneer DEH-8650MP? The pioneer, i can get right away from banawe.
