Help regarding BMW 330i

i came accross this surplus car plaza here in cebu... saw this 2003 BMW330i. the agent told me that its from germany with 36k mileage, 18" BBS rims with new tires selling for 1.5M including insurance and reg... tax paid . I wanna know whats your opinion on this... coz if is worth it ill be trading in my 2005 Ford Focus 1.8... now i dont know much abt bmws and i havent driven one yet. i started the car yesterday... ok naman yung pagstart nya... medyo mas malakas lang vibration niya compared to my focus. I hope guys will give me some insights...thanks

wow... its a bit cheap na nga since i saw a 325i 2003 for 1.5m sa classifieds a few weeks ago. pero try mo rin i haggle pa. bring a good mechanic, someone who is familiar with BMWs or better yet have it checked sa bmw casa to see kung may problema.

pics naman dyan... gandang ganda rin ako sa e46 body and the straight six engines.

But i've read somewhere that as long as may kasamang complete service records/history ang bmw mo kahit imported puwede mong i-paservice sa local bmw casa. not sure if it's true tho, ask mo ibang members dito sa tsikot . pero kung puede, ok lang siguro kunin , may certification ata pag bmw. pero bat malakas vibration niyan kaysa sa focus?

Kumuha kami dati ng W124 from Germany. Ok naman, up to now andito pa. We don't have it serviced at the 'casa' so I don't know if may effect yung pagiging 'surplus' niya. But CATS did install some accessories on it without problems.

I think its best if you know the vehicle and have a good source of third party parts and services in your area.

i think the engine is still cold kaya mas malakas ang vibration... or it could be something else... ill ask abt the certification or the service record...

i have the 2 door version of that car. if you have any specific questions about the car please post it here and i'll answer as best as i can.

my advice when buying a used bmw....find a bmw specialist mechanic that you can trust, or that someone highly recommends, and have them go over the car with a fine tooth comb. it may be expensive, but it will be well worth it in terms of peace of mind and avoidance of even more expensive problems.

if he gives the car a clean bill of health, then i urge you to go for it! i am obviously biased, but this is my favorite car of all the ones i own. the performance is excellent, and all of the glowing things the fanboys say about the handling are all true :lol:

regarding the vibration upon startup, that should not happen. when i start mine up, the ECU puts the engine in a fast idle for no more than a few seconds....i think it's at a few hundred rpm. is that what you mean by vibrating? also, the I6 is a significantly bigger, torquier engine than the Focus I4. does that have anything to do with it? i dunno. anyway, make a note to have that checked out if you get serious about buying the unit.

stock yata is leatherette, with the leather seats an option for extra cost. at least that's how it is in the US market. kiung galing Germany yan, di masyado uso leather dun so maybe they don't offer it standard...yung M3, the standard seats are cloth.

Kapag Euro bimmers, madugong option nga ang leather seats (P100k-plus option sa UK) at standard eh cloth seats.

Check mo sa http://www.realoem.com ang details ng tsikot. Actually, electronic parts catalog yang site, pero i-enter mo lang yung last-7 characters ng VIN para makita mo kung matched nga yung VIN sa details. Sa casa, pwede nilang kunin sa database kung anu-ano pang options ang binili/specs na pinili nung 1st owner. Facelift'ed na dapat kasi kung 2003 yan.

Hindi dapat malakas vibration on cold starts, kaya konti pang kilatis ng mekaniko at diagnostics computer siguro.

Inline six tend to vibrate when it is cold and its perfectly normal. I have a 325 at cold-start-up vibration is normal pero once na umakyat na yung temp. vibrations should go away for more info punta ka sa e46fanatics forums.

Check mo sa internet yung 7 digit vin no. niyan to what model that really is pero definitely di 2003 yan kasi dapat facelifted nayan yung front signal light should be pointed upwards and not downwards for 2002 above models.

BMW local casa would accept to service that vehicle pero you have to pay 30,000++ for them to register it to their database, or an additional 20% to your bill for every service done. You wil definitely need the casa or inspection lights would be a definite hassle kasi di mawawala yan and unlike pre 2000 models na kaya ishort 2001 and above models kailangan talaga ng machine ng bmw.

mahirap lang dyan is the parts coz the 330i was never released here in the philippines ... the engine actually and dapat nga walang vibrations yan bmw engines are smooth khit yung 316i namin hindi nagivivibrate upon startup same with our 525i with the inline 6 no vibration

if i were you i would just find a fresh 325i exec na locally released here sa pinas it owuld really not make that much of a difference kung 330i or 325i e its still an old bimmer khit anong gawin mo an e46 na 318i or 325i pareho lang yan lahat .....

a 325i exec goes for around 1.05-1.1m 400k tipid mo you can buy an original hamann rims with 200k and you still have another 200k for springs and kits mas maganda na e46 mo dyan sa 330i

yup thats the msport bumper same as the ones released here locally and i agree pangit nga ngbumper pati yung screen pininturahan pa !

hmm thealbert of bmwclubph was selling a 330i before... baka ito yun?

medyo mahal na if its an 2001 bmw 330i but if the seller is willing to drop it to maybe 1.3m or even 1.2m then maybe it'll be ok na.

heres another 325i m sport i saw pero medyo pricey at 1.47. atleast local ito and facelifted na.

the seller said... the unit is from japan and not germany... its not converted coz its original LHD daw with service records in japanese hehehe... the last price they gave me is 1.4M ill think about it nalang... maybe may mas mura pa na local unit... anyway thanks alot guys... i really appreciate it.
