    Hi fellow Tsikoteers!

This is my first post in this forum I'm planning to buy the aforementioned vehicle. It has been my dream car since it was released (something about the looks has just got me hooked

I've done my fair share of reading but I would still like to ask a couple of questions:

I guess my first question is, what's the right price tag for these models nowadays? - '02, 03' and '04 316i

Once I acquire my baby, what's the first thing to fix/replace and how much will it cost? (I've heard that to be safe, the cooling system needs to be totally re-done and that the battery should be replaced regardless of how new it is)

Where do I have my baby maintained?

Also, please no haters, I'm into it for the long run (I don't plan to sell her, I'm keeping her til the day I or she dies :doclove: )

Thank you and I appreciate your comments

for the price, you might want to check out suit.com.ph.

if you live in the south, "de best" is a good shop located in westgate at filinvest alabang. "frau" is good but pasig area.

nothing much needs to be done to the car if the previous owner already changed what is needed. but for me, i would right away change the fluids (engine oil, brake fluid, transmission oil, coolant). also check the cooling system. bmw's are expensive to repair if overheated. read the error codes if you have a code reader.

for parts, look for "BIMPARTS". he is my reliable source of parts with good prices too.

i would advise you to look at a 325 or at least a 320 model.

Thank you sir for your input! I've been told the same, to get a 325 or at 320 atleast for the best power to weight ratio, however, I haven't seen any that run on a manual tranny. Am I mistaken or do both really come only in AT? (I have nothing against AT but I'm still a MT guy especially when it comes to Bimmers kasi I'm weary of what might happen if it breaks down lol)

With regard to the pricing, I've been checking out sulit and I saw some selling for as low as 350k and some selling for as high as 600k. Would it be alright to assume that the "right" price would be around 400-450k?

Again, much thanks and the help is greatly appreciated!

The m/t local E46s were the first generation ones (1.9L 318i?). Not much power but of course, expected good balance. I'd probably look at least for a facelifted E46 318i with the newer 2.0L engine or a 325 (a/t only though).

Not sure I follow your comment regarding maintenance of the E46 or slow lang talaga ako haha

Maintenance cost for me eh tinanggap ko na now palang kahit wala pa ako nabibiling unit hehe As far as I know, yun yung pinaka important, tanggapin yung pinasukan hehehehe

Not up to date with the pricing anymore. Check sulit.com and Manila Bulletin Sunday classifieds to get a gauge of the prices.

At Renzo, regular service is not a bank breaker if you have the contacts and sources for parts and service; ang masakit is kung may major repair or hindi inalaga ng previous owner.

Bought a brand new Jap car last year. Then I saw how much E46s are going then I told myself, I'm used to maintaining a Honda, so I should have gotten myself an E46 instead. Since maintenance cost should be around the same range. Second hand, yeah, but still a bimmer.

Yun nga lang, pag may nasira na major... sakit sa ulo

Yeah nga e. One of these days I'd like to experience how it is to own a bimmer. Must be fun.

Thanks buddy! I've been looking around both pages (500k on average, which I'm not sure if it's "tapat" or too much, hence me posting the topic) and told a couple of my friends regarding the prices but they said not to rely on what these ads say, could get it cheaper daw from buy and sell buddies (though i'm not sure if that's a reliable thing to do lol )

Congrats on the brand new car! If it helps, this Bimmer is going to be my secondary car (which I plan to use just 2-3x a day). I don't think it's a good idea to use it as a daily car anyway lol I think your brand new purchase is a very good decision :clap1: regarding the "sakit sa ulo", I know and I think I've already accepted that (though I've still got my fingers crossed that I get a good unit na naalagaan)

Well. Try checking out BMWs pre-owned displays, they night have E46s lying around somewhere.

I'd go against the idea of getting a unit from 2nd hand car dealers, most of the time their units are so fcked up that it runs good for a week then everything breaks down one after the other.
