saw the unit, its still in its prestine condition, no scratches/ dents. 35K mileage. For P750,000, should i get it or just get a brandnew, say Civic or Maz3?
my brod said that this (bimmer) could serve me more than getting a brand new.
    - how is the cost of maintenance?
    - parts/ accessories
    - resale value?

please help me, im a newbie here also never driven a BMW nor know any technicals about it.

    TIA.

I don't own a bimmer nor have driven one, but IMO if I have 750K to spend, I'll probably get a 1.5 Jazz or use it as down payment for an FD civic instead of getting a second hand E46 316.

If I'm in the market for a second hand e46 3-series, I'll make sure that it will be at least a 318 Msport or a 325.

Last year, I also fantasized owning a 2nd hand Bimmer, esp. the E46. But when I learned that inspection pa lang mga 15k na (wala pang parts yun), bigla akong nahimasmasan. Jap sedan na lang pinili ko

Just use your money as a downpayment for an SUV.

I owned one of the first 3 series in the Philippines when the only service center was Hahn Manila actually it was serviced in their house in Horseshoe village. I used the car for 10 yrs. IMO do not buy a 3 series with less than 2,000cc preferrably a 325 or M3. With 750k+ get a brand new Civic or Mazda 3 you won't be sorry. The 316 is a POS you will just be paying for the badge.
In the future if you still want a bimmer Naji the Lebanese guy in Pasong Tamo ext. back of Terry's deli has surplus BMW parts including M3 & 5 engines

    ganito ba?

sayang, maganda sana sa porma at ibang klase pang modify...yun nga lang, patay ka sa gasolina and parts. Downpayment mo na lang, kuha ka ng New H. Civic or SUV.

    Good luck.

I'm driving an E36 right now, and i'll tell you now, iba talaga ang ride and performance ng bimmer compared to other cars, especially the feel of having it, hehe. Maintaining my car can probably be compared to maintaing an accord or camry, but definitely not as cheap as civics etc. There are a lot of shops now that are experienced with bimmers, and don't charge an arm and a leg. So for me it isn't so bad. The parts also, are now more available locally, with reasonable prices. Just make sure the car you're getting is in mint condition. lastly, resale value, of course maganda resale value for all the right reasons. So its up to you if you wanna try out a bimmer or stick with your trusted car manafacturers.

question, what's the price of the subj BMW when it was brand new? if it's 50% off its original price then I guess it's a good buy.

The 318 "M Sport" is a joke. Extra trim, and an extra price tag, and nothing else.

    Now there's a terrible idea.

So that's probably why I see a lot of E46 318's in the car advertisements and the exact opposite for the E46 325's

2001 BMW 316i (E46) still worth buying?
