profile is similar to the E36 coupe, with its more prominent 3-box shape...

Ok. I'll buck the consensus here. I love the new design!

More curvy and a radical departure from the previous "boxy" designs. If I had a bimmer, I'd be thinking, "Now, people would know I have an old car".

It almost seems like BMW is trying to woo buyers of Japanese luxury sedans and coupes which tend to be curvy as well.

    Same here!

Against the regular E90, the design is much cleaner and more fluid. The front fascia is more like the E46 while the rear is a big improvement over the awkward tail lights of the E90 sedan (though it reminds me of the previous gen 5 Series' tail lamps & the first release of the current 7 Series).

And the 335i is just wicked! Almost close to the horsepower output of the previous gen M3.

You have to think if the 335i is that good, an M3 version will have to do much better. I can't really imagine how much more BMW can improve the 335i to M3 standards unless it moves to supercar territory.

Yup... it is rumoured that the E90 M3 will be sporting a 400hp V8 engine... enough to outsprint the 911 Carrera.

At least the E90 Coupe gave us a preview of the M3's body style.

Actually bi-turbo. Probably another term for twin turbo. So, it'll be a twin turbo much like the Japanese supercars of the early 90's? It certainly perked up my interest because it is another radical move by BMW which tended to stick with naturally-aspirated engines in the past.

If it will be a twin turbo, I wonder what the arrangement will be, parallel or sequential?

I believe the bi-turbo 335i will be the 3rd production BMW with a turbocharged gasoline engine.
    1st was the 170hp 1973-73 BMW 2002 Turbo...

    2nd was the 252hp 1980-86 BMW 745i(3.2 turbo)...

2 generations over the last 30+ years. They're still rare enough to make turbos somewhat out of character for a BMW, not that I'd complain if I ever get my hands on a 335i. I have to wonder though what BMW has in mind with turbo cars. Maybe they're stopgap measures until they develop more advanced engines which are more in their character. Whatever the reasons, these new 3-series cars are very attractive-looking.

If my kid was all grown up and on her own and I'm on the market for a luxury coupe/sedan, I'd be attracted to Infiniti cars. But seeing this new BMW 3-series, wow.

I wonder if there'll be an M3 version and what it's going to pack under the hood?
