Avanza Check Engine Light

FYi ..

i just found and identified the part no for the common check engine problem
it is called " Switch, Inlet Air Temperature" Part no. 89424B

I think this Link was also posted earlier on this topic I just wonder how come Toyota cannot identify the part no?.

anyways ill be at Toyota Ortigas again to talk to the service manager and have the car problem Fixed me wifi naman doon, so probably i could post updates again

Updates

vanza is now being worked on the casa-toyota ortigas(Valleverde). initial cost is P300, and estimated workdays is 1 1/2 days daw (What the!) anyways.. still hoping for the car to be finished within the day. i've recorded the conversation, and inquired regarding the part that needed to be replace (but instead it is to be repaired as they dont have the parts made for avanza, those
parts are for only vios and wont fit the avanza.)

2nd, rear shocks with leak, being evaluated, and according to the S.A. he'll talked to the Warranty officer for possible warranty claim, otherwise. I'll just have it replace with KYB or just both the orig parts here and have it installed outside (1hr only) if in casa 1day!.

So far, ikaw pa lang yata ang nagka problem sa shocks. Pakibalitaan na lang ulit. :D BTW, mayroon kayang progressive springs para sa likod? TIA.

Update for the check engine, Im assuming its already fixed, as i saw vanza lined-up for engine wash (tips lang for engine wash make sure sa casa nyo pagawa para kung me maging problem sa engine nyo after the engine wash mabilis lang i-claim ang warranty) This is different from Engine detailing

Symptoms of worn out shock
* pag 2-3 person kayo nadaan sa humps or lubak. medyo bouncy kaunti sa likod
* pag 4 person, medyo naka dip na sa likod and ang headlight beam medyo mataas na kahit di pa Hi-Beam on night driving

mine was diagnose when it was lifted for SOP checkup ng toyota, they saw stains of oil or fluid doon sa rear shocks ko, sign of leakage still waiting for the information if it is still covered under warranty ;)

Updates

i got vanza out of the casa, total bill paid P1,2xx.00 for labor and engine wash
(P300 for the labor of re-wiring) what they did was, changed the whole wiring of the IAT sensor (sunog, kasi matigas na wires) re-crimp the wiring back to the connector. All systems back to normal. Engine running smoothly, and very Clean ... ill post the pix later.. ;)

Di ko na binusisi pa...intay ko nalang ang followup call ng customer relations nila.. saka na namin paguusapan yun P300 labor charge .

Yung warranty officer mailap masyado doon, busy daw but still i manage to have the Shocks be covered ng warranty nila, too bad they dont have stock for the Rear Shocks, lahat ng major parts order basis (New SOP daw sa branch). So plan your major parts to be replaced ahead to avoid your cars be stucked at casa for days ..

Warranty coverage nga pala is 3Years or 100k? tama ba? buti nalang covered na yun shocks ko, by Jan 2010 tapos na warranty;) i would suggest that you guys have your shocks be checked thoroughly Sayang din ang 2k++ per shocks sa bulsa

Normal po ba pag start ng car mag-light-up all the indicator lights? (except for the empty gas). Ganun kasi yung saken. bago mag click yung start umiilaw yung mga indicator tapos pagkastart nawawala after 1-2 secs.

OT na din.. sino na po naka-pagpalit ng collant ng rediator sa inyo.. pinapalitan din ba ng casa yun every check-up sa kanila.. sabi kasi ng SA ko wag hahaloan ng tubig yung coolant ko. ever since nung nabili ko yung saken di ko pa napapalitan. I forgot to check nga lang kung pinalitan sya nung 1k at 5k check-up ko.

sir nung 40k pms ko sa tyt dasma, palit halos lahat ng liquid ko, yung radiator ko drain nila tapos refill ng coolant, yung brake fluid, power steering fluid, transmission gear oil, engine oil halos lahat papalitan... pati nga yung under coating e... pagnaka-coolant ka sir panatag ang loob mo di kelangan mag lagay ng tubig sa radiator...

OT:

meron ako kilala sa toyota plant in sta. rosa laguna, siguro pde ko i-share sa kanya to baka it would help sa improvement ng avanza and sa pag handle nila ng customers in this kind of situations...

Plan ko pa naman kumuha ng Vanzy this coming March then pa member ako sa ACP... sawa na kc ako sa second hand...sakit sa ulo liteace... eto ung pinaka affordable na bago n pede ko kunin....peroso far eto pa lang ba na eecnounter nyo problem sa avanza? what if full of passenger? d kaya bumigay ung shock? let say 7 adults.

2.5 years old na ang avanza ko. almost 68K na ang odometer. walang problem sa suspension. Stock pa rin. lately lang ako nagpakabit ng rear stabilizer at new tires.

7 adults and 2 toddlers + stuff for 6 days vacation byaheng laguna legaspi in bicol, summer last year, no problem. wala rin palang top load. BTW, J ang Avanza ko.

Have been to La Union, Pangasinan, Bataan, Batangas, Tagaytay Cavite, Monasterio in Tarlac, etc.

Kayang kaya yan. Natakbo na ako ng 9 adults + 5 kids, although sa Metro Manila lang. 6 adults + 2 kids naman going to Tagaytay. Wala namang problem. Pati engine din kayang kaya.

3 years na old naman yung sa akin last december ok pa rin. maraming beses na rin natakbo ko ng 8 adults sakay from manila/qc going tagaytay & laguna

makisingit ang isang vios owner :P this also happened to me recently when the check engine light went on and off intermittently...wala error code sa ECU (it's because I have my own OBD II scanner in my car at all times) i suspected something else kasi umilaw din ABS ko kasabay nya...turned out it's a loose wiring connector in my dashboard. binaklas ko dashboard and tested the connector, sprayed contact cleaner and taped the plug to secure it more so far no CEL flashing :P
