this will be my 1st time to apply rubbing compound. Aside from washing, shampooing and drying the car, what else will I do? am aware na abrasive yun. Any tips?

1. do not do it under the sun, or apply it when the surface is hot (like sa hood pag mainit pa ang engine). at syempre ma-sunburn ka ehehehe!
2. use a clean, lint free cloth that is lightly damp with water.
3. work on a small area at a time or the compound will just dry out.
pag tapos na, syempre wash mo ulit (water na lang) then dry, then wax. as in #1, dapat hindi mainit pag nag-apply ka ng wax kasi pag mainit ang surface tapos nabasa within 24 hours magkakaron ng water marks.
tama.... apply only a lil bit of rubbing compound...
pwede pranela na pamunas....

carlocaraddict just curious why do you need to compound?
there are irritating scratches. Di kaya ng wax eh. Anyway, the car is 4 years old and ang daming scratches sa hood, right fender and bumpers.Originally Posted by PROMDIBOY
Mmm... masyado atang abrasive yung rubbing compound, better try a less abrasive product or a visit to BigBerts will do wonders with your problem.
i suggest using turtle wax swirl n scratch remover, easier to apply just like wax n less abrasive than rubbing compound. trust me it will do wonders on ur paint.
nag apply na ako. At least nag lessen yung gas gas pero bad trip yung parang after effects nung rubbing compound. Tapos wax na ginamit ko yung bagong product ng Turtle Wax, yung Platinum Edition. Nawala na yung after effects nung RC. IMO, its better than the Hard Shell wax (yung green bottle). Bought it in Rustan's Supermart for 129 bucks. Yun nga lang its not easy to wipe it off but the shine is better than the Hard Shell version.
