Palagay nyo ok tanggalin ang Door moulding ng auto? I drive a 2003 Ford Ghia, meron ung door molding with chrome strip in between, as oppose to the the Lsi which is a lower trim. Problem ko kc paparetouch ko ung portion ng door at cguradong tatamaan ung moulding. Bka kc masira or di ma rub properly ung edges around that moulding. Ive seen cars that removed there door mouldings intentionally to give it a sportier-cleaner look daw. Kasi kung pipinturahan at tatanggalin un, bka di na maibalik ng maayos e. By the way Iv checked with ford at naka-adhesive lang naman sya. Please help me decide guys...

July 14th, 2003 05:06 PM #4naka-adhesive lang naman sir kaya pwede ulit ibalik iyan using 3M adhesive products...imho, remove it first then ipapintura nyo na yung buong pinto....kadalasan nagsisimulang matuklap ang repainted part doon sa edges ng moulding kapag nagpa-repaint at hindi ito tinanggal (based on experience sa dating ride ko-Corolla XE)...
if you will remove all the other door mouldings, be prepared for a repaint...may natuklap kasi nang konti sa factory paint ng Corolla ko noon nung sinubukang tanggaling nang dahan dahan...

would anyone of you by any chance know how to remove this in the safest way? Na hindi mabakbak ung stock paint? Would 3M adhesive remover work or kerosene or sinulid, kahit ano saka ung procedures na din. TY!

July 15th, 2003 12:28 AM #6If you take it off, magiging prone to dings and dents ka from other cars sa parking lot. Ewan ko ba kung bakit walang moulding ang City at Echo. Ang dali tuloy ma-dent.

OT: I also own a 2002 Ford Lynx Ghia, sa trunk lid ng ride nyo wala ba kayo napapansin na tanggal yun paint sa tabi nun chrome na nakapaligid sa kabitan ng plate number? yun sa akin kasi may mga tiklap na pintura at may rust na yun iba. Dinala ko sa casa at buti naman under warranty yun...they repainted it, yun lang up to now di ko pa nakukuha yun ride ko...last friday ko pa iniwan sa kanila yun.

July 15th, 2003 05:04 PM #9use sinulid na matibay, prepaid cards or guitar cords...lagyan nyo muna ng masking tape yung paligid ng moulding para di magasgasan yung ibang doors...medyo mahirap magtanggal ng matitirang adhesive...3M Adhesive remover is not enough...sa brother in law ko, I used gasoline tapos kutkutin nyo na lang dahan dahan ng kuko...apply na lang ulit kayo ng wax after...

July 17th, 2003 12:47 PM #11mas okay sana kung color-coded na lang. Kapag wala nyan, gaya ng nasabi na, prone to dings and dent. And some say, not having a side moulding is a sporty look (i.e. Honda Integra Type-R, Honda Prelude, WRX)

July 20th, 2003 03:25 PM #15Dati nabangga sa pinto yung W123 na Benz ko. Mahal ang moulding non saka luma na (1977) model pa. Ang ginawa ng talyer, dinala sa may Orthopedic. Pinainitan ata dun sa mga gumagawa ng crutches hanggang maunat uli. hehehe. Ang galing. Kaso hindi na ganon ka-perfect.

July 20th, 2003 09:07 PM #16O ung mga may LYNX LSI dyan, bka gusto nyo ng door moulding na pang GHIA para upgraded car nyo. Maganda pagkakatanggal ko, may maliit na guhit-guhit lang dun sa chrome ng moulding sa rear left door barely noticeable. PM me if interested... Sama nyo na full chrome grill at GHIA sideskirts...
