I'm using turtle wax for waxing my car. Just curious on how often you have to apply wax to the car paint. I'm thinking about twice a month. Any thoughts?

It depends on the durability of the wax. Kung hindi na nagbi-bead ang tubig, ibig sabihin kailangan na ulit i-wax. I wax my car once a week. Yung TW carnauba can last for a month. Yung TW Platinum naman can last for two weeks MAX. TW ICE gamit ko..pinakamakintab sa lahat ng TW variants but it only last for a week.

i also have Carlack68 NSC... i noticed lang na it's quite difficult to buff off... me streaks na naiiwan... you need to follow it up pa with a quick detailer or a slightly damp microtex cloth.

i recently got hold of Dupont Carnauba Wax that Big Bert's is also using for their waxing services... GREAT PRODUCT also easy to buff off and leaves a slick finish.

I've read from other forums na pag mahirap tanggalin, matagal din bago mawala ang beading.

Nung pagka-purchased mo ng car, pina-hydrophillic mo na ba nun? Maganda po ba result ng hydrophilic sa new car nyo po?

TW Hard Shell Wax. It contains light abrasives AFAIK. If you want real protection, prepare at least 1k+ for a good and durable wax. A wax that lasts at least 3 months in the US can only last 1 to 2 weeks in our dirty climate.

I get to try a lot of wax combinations during my weekly waxing. This time, I'm trying a combination of Meg's Ultimate Paste Wax and 3-4 layers of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. Hoping to get a Monty's worth of durability from this combo.

    * sir EuroFD, when you do your wax combi and layering, how long is your curing time each layer? when you say 3-4 layers do you alternately apply them? TIA

My layering technique is 2-3 days apart. I can't afford to do a whole day of applying, buffing and curing. But before I apply the next layer, I rinse the car with water and a drop of mild shampoo.

i see, i have not tried the layering of different waxes. what i am doing is the common routine of cleaner-sealant-wax. i think sealant is also a synthetic wax so in a way i am also doing layering. i always apply sealant before any LSP's as i believed sealant if cured properly bind well with the paint and i get more protection. so far, my car paints are all in top shape...
