I was washing my car the other day and saw this small scratch on my cars bumper, pwede kaya spot repair lang? parang na chip off yung paint, baka tinamaan ng pebblesayang naman kung buong bumper ang i-repaint.

November 16th, 2004 12:30 PM #4have the same problem. pagpasok ko ng gate sumagi ng konti. sa inis ko gusto ko nang iparepaint yung bumper kaya lang sayang din. hintayin ko na lang madagdagan pa

November 16th, 2004 01:25 PM #6a properly done spot repair on a bumper will make that look like brand new again. it's quite easy...definitely no reason to repaint the whole thing.

Well sa kasamaang palad, I got this scratches (nakayod sa pader) sa parking area ko. Kakainis at 3-week old pa lang ang car ko...
Just want to ask kung ano ang magandang gawin, I have comprehesive insurance pero I think di naman ito covered.
What and where to have this fix? Complete repaint ba ng bumper? Or yung area lang. Saan magandang iparepair ito.. sa casa kaya?

payo ko kapag lumaki na lang ang gasgas tsaka pa repaint, kapag chip off paint lang, try mo yung touch up paint na binebenta sa concorde...

ang spot paint, halata talaga kahit anong gawin... sa malayo medyo ok... pero kapag tinitigan mo na, ayun... labas na labas! lalo na kapag medyo off ang color... like mica...

guys, honestly - kung halata yung spot repair on the bumper, regardless of the color, hindi marunong yung pintor. there's no reason for a bumper repair, especially on a corner, not to come out good.Originally posted by mazdamazda

kapag bumabakat, the surface has not been properly prepped - the damage has not been properly sanded out or the painter did not finish the prep job with a light enough grit of paper.
color mixing and matching is very simple if you have a formula book - available to any professional paint mixer or body shop. the books tell you the right amount of pigment and the appropriate metal flake or mica to use. they also tell you what to add to adjust the color correctly - konting tiyaga lang talaga as you add a drop here and a drop there to match it.
finally, your painter needs to know proper blending techniques with clearcoat and taking advantage of body lines to make it look perfect.
in my previous career i've spot painted hundreds of bumpers - many silver. never had a complaint that i couldn't fix.
