    Hello detailing masters.

What pads do you recommend as a starter must-haves for random orbital polisher use?

    Thanks.

This will depend on your intended use. If your car is relatively new a polishing and finishing pad is enough.

But if you intend to do heavy paint correction, consider a compounding pad in addition to the pads I mentioned above.

And also what products do you intend to use with these pads?

Relatively newly painted and scratchless paint. No heavy paint correction needed. I guess basic wash application to minor pain correction lang ang need ko. Also, I might be doing some muffler polishing and plastic headlights/tailights restoration.

Re products: I have not decided yet sir, just starting up. Perhaps you could also make suggestions with theses.

    Thanks Kitoy22!

If that is the case, your good with a polishing pad and finishing pad, you may not even use your polishing pad if its a newly painted car, unless the finish after painting is not done well.

As for the products, i recommend megs 205 or sonax perfect finish. These are medium polish that can finish very well, gives you a wider range of cut if you need it, just play around with your pad combinations.

Look for lake country flat pads, since you will be using an RAndom orbital polisher, choose the low profile pads for more efficient polishing.

for starter kit, get 2 orange, 2 white, 1 black lake country pads and your good to go

for polishing of minor scratches and swirls, use the orange pad. for all in one polishes, use the white. for applying glaze/wax use the black one. read further in autogeek.com.

it's the orange pads that i use more often

because you will use more often the orange and white pads. during polishing, polish residue accumulates in the surface of the pad and it lessens its abrasive efficiency. you need to change to a fresh pad. for a small sedan, 1 orange or white polishing pad may suffice but if you have bigger car like an suv or van, you need at least 2 of each.

a relative in the US bought them for me. check ginnova here in tsikot or in olx, he might still have some pads for sale.
