Just finished my detailing seminar from Meguiars HQ in Irvine, CA. There will be significant product changes in 2011 as revealed by Mike Stoops.

wow i envy you! you got to meet them in person, did you get the seminar for free? and are there any discounts if buying from them onsite? im sure 2011 is already gonna be great, i have my eyes on ultimate paste wax and the gallon size of the professional version of Ultimate Quik Detailer

Kanina kasi nagcar wash ako ng car ko. After ko malinis, may napansin akong mga concrete na matigas na. Maliit lang naman. Parang dot dot lang siya. Paano ko ito tatanggalin? Kaya pa ba ito matanggal? Need help guys.

hmmm that would have to be checked personally to suggest a good product but if its cement usually paint safe body solvents work great, you could also try to clay it and hope it comes off, but if its cement i would not recommend using the clay again, try to break away a small piece and dedicate that you the cement spots.

Not the entire Meguiars team, only Mike Stoops (Forum and Marketing Admin). The rest of the gurus where still wasted after their stint at SEMA.

The seminar is free. Breakfast and Lunch are also free. How good a deal is that The lecture part is nothing more than what people already know about detailing. The real deal is when we actually applied the techniques.

They don't sell products onsite but Mike recommends amazon.com, autodetailingsolutions.com and detailing.com. That also means only MSRP and no discounts.

Your interest with the Ultimate Paste Wax seems justifiable. Mike mentioned this being a highly recommended product versus NXT. And about the famous SwirlX, their R&D guys apparently are concocting something that might eventually replace it by 2011.

they already have a multi step polish. they might be concocting something to compete with the longer playing OPT Hyper Compound and Hyper Polish Sprays.

yes you could use AIO followed by 476 if thats what you meant

the bug and tar remover is safe for paint just as long as you wash you car properly first before applying it

as with using kerosene its pretty safe if you ask me, just don't let it tell for like 30 minutes or so and just as long as you're carefull with rubber, otherwise on painted parts its very safe

its a cleaner and repellent, its meant to remove films and other gunky sticky contaminants on the paint and add a very light rain repellent, but sadly its not made for removing water spots, waterspots are usually mineral deposits etched into the paint, if you have those you might want to try using pure distilled vinegar on a small hand cotton towel and put some on the windshield and try to rub if off, if its still there you might need to use a more concentrated acid to remove them, and lastly in severe cases you might need to even use a ultra fine polish to remove them of course all depending on the state and severity of the watermarks, i suggest you try to bring it over one time if you guys have an EB, Elevo Watermark remover is a favorite among forumers here its found in nearly all hardware stores, but as with me and my BF we prefer something stronger to easily do the job.

Apparently ADS handles a lot of their products which includes logo merchandise. ADS also have bulk sales unlike AG which only carries a handful.

As to why they need to insert a new product between their multi-step line is beyond me. They must have found something more practical towards regular usage which their competitors currently doesn't have.

you might need to use an aggressive clay, there are a lot of different clay grades and some or really really hard and aggressive that you could actually see some very old paint spots and transfers slowly abrade away, its like literally wet sanding the overspray but it is still gentle on paint

When done properly, claying is clear coat safe right? What are the pros and cons of using an aggressive and less aggressive clay? Will aggressive clay scratch the paint?

I believe that I need to clay once a month because during weekdays, I park in an industrial zone in Novaliches. After a month, sobra gaspang ulit ng bubong.

may mga watermarks din yung kotse ko ngayon. hindi ko kagad natanggal kasi pagod pa galing sa overnight sa may laguna. ok lang ba sa sunday ko na lang gamitan ng swirlx?

most likely hood, roof, and trunk lang naman nag kakaron ng watermarks diba? hindi ko pa pansin sa sides eh.

I am a newbie to detailing. Tanong ko lang kung saan makakabili ng mga non-consumer line na waxes and tools/accessories. Also, san nakakabili ng ibang brands such as optimum, WG, Pinnacle, Dodo, Natty's, PB etc.. meron ba ng mga ganun dito?

This is my first time to use carlack twins and below are the results.

here are my procedure. started the procedure 10PM sunday nov 7 till 2AM Nov 8.
- rinse with water
- rinse with water using palm of my hands to remove dirt
- rinse with water again but using MF suds
- shampoo with microtex
- rinse with water
- remove water via squegee (mas madali kasi parang wiper ng auto e)
- towel dry with MF towel.
- apply carlack aio
- buff it using MF ultra plush
- apply carlack new paint sealant
- wait for 1 hour
- buff it using MF ultra plush

then kanina pagkagising ko around 4PM Nov 8
nag spray ako ng zymol QD to polish and here's the result...

its pretty safe a lot like medium and light clay, its just a lot tougher i mean good luck kneading it hehe
