Good day guys. Just want to ask what to do if your car develops several blisters on the roof. Probably due to exposure to prolonged sunlight (wala kasi shade parking area). Thank you!

1. poor re-paint technique. you can either grin and bear it, or have it re-painted. correctly, this time.
2. rust! ugh!

madami din gumagawa bumubili na ng jdm surplus roof cut w/ sun/moon roof para mas madali at mas "functional" tingnan

Mga magkano kaya abutin pag strip to metal ang repaint? Ang sabi kasi sakin repaint 2500 per panel..ewan ko lang kung mag iba yung price pag strip to metal. Sorry mga sir talagang baguhan ako sa mga ganito haha! Di rin ata pwede yung roof cut kasi nagkalat tlga yung mga blisters..parang acne.

depende yan sa negotiation mo sa pintor. but yung 2,500/panel is for paint-over lang. hindi strip to metal.

^^ clarify ko lang bro para may idea ka. pag roof cut replacement iyong tipong buong roof ng kotse tatanggalin. ipapalit doon buong surplus roof ng kotse din. bale sa 4 na pillars siya puputulin at ikakabit kaya sabi nila masmadali ang trabaho. of course, may pros and cons din iyan

like i said, iyong iba ang binibili nilang roof cut may amenity na na sun/moon roof na oem from japan. iyong iba naman plain jdm roofcut lang

Happened to my 1995 esi. Had to cut the whole roof and replace with a new metal sheet....then sold it.

If it is still new, less than 3 years of age, from the date of purchased, it should be warranty covered. Regardless whether always nakabilad sa araw o inu-ulanan.

stones do not cause paint blisters. consider instead, poor paint technique, or paint incompatibility.
stones only chip away at paint.

errr... when we say, "not more than one year", do we mean, the car is less than a year old from brand new? or are we refering to the paint only? i.e., is the paint in question, factory paint, or re-paint?

if factory original paint, then there are express warranties regarding that, sir.
if re-paint, there are also warranties for that, which will probably vary, depending on the shop that did it.

Kung makapagpalusot naman talaga mga SA ng Casa oh. Nag determine kaagad sila ng stone chip yun. Paano naman nila na-determine ng ganun? Di nila naisip, una muna mga tatamaan ang mga side ng body, head lamp, bumpers at windshields, kesa sa bubong.

Kahit any car pa yan. Stone chip(grava, bato maliit,o pako itinalamsik ng gulong sinusundan ko), tumama, paint lang, di man nagka dent. Nakita ba nila mismo ng mga mata nila, na tumama yung bato sa bubong mo, at sasabihin ng SA na stone chip galing sa mga truck at SUV.

Let me just give and tell you a story of our ride. Its a Honda City (SX8), acquired year 99, its roof has never been repainted since then, only some part that mostly will have scratches and dent in its body, like the bumpers, doors and hood. Lately I have seen it develops roof blisters, just 3 years ago. And I know what had cause it. Ako naglilinis hugas neto, kahit nakabilad sa araw at ulanin. Kaya I know if during its process of manufacturing, kung poor ang preparation of paint nila o hindi. It's way year long na, and it's out of warranty. Ang sa iyo, cover pa iyan ng warranty. Wala pang 1year.

What brand is your unit? Natanggal ang pintura, as in natukplap? Blisters or bulutong, ay sanhi ng rust, covered underneath its paint. If the metal sheet is rusted, and not treated to be remove before it was cover by paint, the rust expands and bloat the paint above it. Ang mga SA talaga ng Casa, igagawa talaga nila ng palusot. Paano naman nila na determine na stone chiped ang naging sanhi nyan?

The explanation I received from a casa before was -

It is the portion of the roof that touches the equipment used to hold the body during the factory rust proofing process. In effect, it was not coated and protected. Parang achilles' heel lang. *lasing*
