First official photos of the new Audi S3 from Auto Motor und Sport, while Audi's press site still doesn't have anything. Another embargo violation ? While wating for the english press release, here are some highlights.

The S3 has a furhter power-step of the 2.0 liters Turbo-FSI engine, with an output of 265 ps (exactly like the BMW 130i), with a torque of 350 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The Haldex 4WD system and the close-geared six-speed manual gearbox combine to let the S3 accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, top speed is (as usual) electronically limited to 250 km/h, while average fuel consumption on the di 9,1 litri per 100 km. For comparison's sake, the BMW 130i takes 6.1 seconds from 0-100 km/h and has an average fuel consumption of 9.2 liters/100 km.

Available only with the three-door body, the new S3 has 18"alloy rims with 225/40 tyres and 17" sport brakes. The ride has been lowered by 25 mm, the front has a chromed single-frame grille and big air intakes integrated in the front apron. In the back you can see a small spoiler over the back glass, a double chrome-finished exhaust tube.

In the interior you can find sport seats covered in a combination of leather and fabric, aluminium decoration and a special design for the instruments. Standard equipment includes foglamps, bi-xenon headlights and a multi-function display that includes the laptime timer.

The starting price for the Audi S3 is 35.150 € in Germany.

Now all that needs is a mesh grille to make it perfect. I still hate Audi's huge grilles... but I absolutely love the looks of that car.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    5.7secs to 100kmh?

a Subaru Legacy GT with 250hp can do that in 5.3secs.

If you're too concerned about the 0-60, then opt for a 190-hp/138ft-lb Lotus Elise can do it in 4.9secs [for about the same price of the S3]

    or, get a sportsbike :evillaugh

Hey, the Mazdaspeed6 costs less, makes more power, is bigger, and still gets 24mpg combined and over 30 on the highway (from owner's reports on Mazda boards)... all the owners just love the car... hmmmm.....

The Legacy GT's 5.3 sec figure is 0-60 mph or 0-96km/h...
You should be surprised that the 250hp USDM Legacy is only 0.2 sec slower than the 300hp Impreza STI.

I wouldn't be surprised if the S3 can hit 100km/h in 5.5 sec in a real test.

S4 pa rin gusto ko. Hirap 2 door pag kasama ang asawa't anak.

    (Akala mo may pambili hehehe)

Or maybe the cheaper A4 with the same 2.0T, tuned by third party Audi tuners. Yeah.
