if i were you, i'd go for a 1.8 Turbo, either FWD or quattro. the normally aspirated 1.8's are a little bit under-powered, but they're ok i guess if you're not much into speed and all you do is city driving.

reliability-wise, don't expect a european car to be as troublefree as a japanese car. mechanically, audi's are usually pretty reliable. sometimes you may encounter problems with the electronics, just like with a BMW or a Benz. like any pre-owned car, much will depend upon how the previous owner took care of it.

but euro cars are like beautiful high maintenance women. sometimes a little more headache, but an absolute blast when everything is working fine!

Parts ang magiging potential na problema dyan, mukhang walang parts outside the dealer network ang Audi. You'll always be at the mercy of the casa when it comes to spare parts, whatever they charge you, you won't have any choice.

That was the feedback of my friend who has an A4. He usually has friends from abroad bring in/ship the needed parts.

But all in all, if it's an second car or project car and you have the funds then go for it. It's a understated car with good potential from how i see it.

cool cool.. would anyone have an idea how much parts from the casa are? like the parts that usually need to be replaced? or maybe alternative places to get parts?

Sad to say, parts are scarce but for those who where to look its no problem at all. I drive a 1991 Audi 80 which is definitely a rare car than an A4 yet i get my parts with no problem at all. Parts for Audi are easily accesible through a shop along espana. i forgot the name of the shop but that is where all my parts come from. So if you're still interested in buying the A4, parts are not problem, its the price of the parts that will kill you. From what i learned sa suking Audi shop ko is that newer model of Audi have really have high prices for parts. PM me in case you want to know the exact location.

    drvie safe.

great thanks for the info! ill basically be using it for city driving so ok na ako kahit hindi sya quattro but that would be great though. is it really that hard to find parts? like sa pasay wala ba dun? i found a place before that had parts for american and euro cars so i was hoping id be able to find parts in those places if ever i do get an audi.

tol!! my son have a 2002 audi a4 quattro.. drives really cool!! fast and very stylish car..downside is when they break down is very expensive especially on electronics or sensors so you might want to keep up with scheduled maintenance to avoid breakdowns..or your engine light indicator will drive you crazy it will turn on & off as they please even if there is nothing wrong with the car very sensitive sensors...good luck..
