My ride is a Nissan and my aircon setting is at 25 degress celcius. I find this setting to be the most comfortable. Not too cold and not too warm. Kaya lang whenever i take my car for PMS, pagkuha ko the aircon is down to 18 degrees celcius, which is just freezing for my taste. I'm just curious why the guys at the casa always put it in this setting. What's the benefit in setting the aircon at higher or lower temperature setting?

Kayo, ano po setting ng aircon nyo?

probably they also test the cooling capacity of your a/c by setting it at higher temp. but hindi nga maganda to leave it that way if your preferred thermostat is only at 25 degrees

mine is not digital, a simple slide switch which I normally set at 30-50% lang.

Sa Avanza, Fan at 2, Thermostat at first click from off.

Sa ZZ, Fan at 1 or 2, Thermostat at minimum.

Fan - set at maximum after start-up, then number 2

Thermostat - set at just above minimum

Factory aircon for the Adventure uses rotary dials, by the way.

Compressor on = fuel consuption.

Pag tangahaling tapat at nabilad nag car, pag on ng aircon at sinagad, matatagalan bago mag stop ang compressor. equates to lower FC.

Iyong fan consumes electricity being generated by the alternator, the alternator is powered bg the engine - FC pa rin.

Tiny correction: I think you mean masmataas ang FC (fuel consumption)...

My car's temperature wheel indicates 18C as cold setting, 22C as in between, and 26C has warm setting. When I drive it depends on the ambient temps, malamig na ngayon sa California kaya middle setting ako usually with minimal blower speed.

For me, rule of thumb is: unnecessary use of aircon equals waste of fuel. A 25deg setting means the aircon works less often than the 18deg setting. Note also, everytime the aircon compressor works means more load on the engine, which means reduction on the life effeciency of your engine. Think about it. Choice is yours.

Wag na lng mag aircon, longer life for the engine.
But seriously, the more load for the engine, the lesser the FC. Yun lng...not life efficiency.

    Mine's set at 22C

CONSUMPTION of fuel means how many liters per 100km (or per km, if you want).

You might have been referring to FUEL EFFICIENCY (km/liter or MPG), like in this webpage: http://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-Your-Car%27s-Fuel-Efficiency-(MPG)

Nasa 40% ang thermostat dial ko most of the time. Hehe.
