since most of the cars here locally are assembled and manufactured here in the Philippines, i think there is more than that reason why thermostats are still included on newly released cars.

Keep it... if it needs replacement, its not that costly naman.

The thermostat regulates the flow of water into the engine depending on the temperature. Without it, water just flow through continuously and may keep the engine from reaching an optimal operating temperature.

A cold engine is inefficient. Magastos sa gas and produces excessive (although invisible) pollutants.

Sa tanghali lang mainit sa Pilipinas. May gabi at umaga pa din tayo. May Tagaytay, Baguio at Hi Peak din.

Most shade-tree radiator shop people didn't go to automotive tech school. Their only objective is to prevent overheating. They couldn't care less about proper operating temperatures and other engine parameters.

Thermostat regulates engine temp via water cooling. But not many people realize that the engine, when operating in prolonged wide-open throttle conditions will not be cooled down enough by a free-flowing radiator since the radiator is unable to cool down the water enough before it reaches the engine and cools it. That's another function for the thermostat, allowing the water in the radiator to cool down before it goes back into the engine block's water galleys. A good way to look at this is shifting; dapat palamigin muna ang half ng content ng tubig mo before isabak mo ulit sa init; hance yung other half ng tubig content mo naman ang makakapahinga / cool-down.

Kaya hindi mo dapat tanggalin ang thermostat.
