honda civic vti 1996 overheat problem

Hi, i'm a new member here.
Ask ko lang kasi we have purchased a 2nd hand civic, problem is overheat, possible ba sending unit ang problem kasi tumataas temperature nya but the water sa radiator & reserve is normal. I hope you can help me with this. tnx.

with regards to your problem, I think you should check the radiator if there is a problem.

faults in the sending units are extremely rare. What's your car's mileage? are you sure it isn't tampered? if it's 130,000 or more you might need new head gaskets. When you say overheat, how high is it on the temperature gauge, 3/4, 4/4 redzone etc.? Steam usually won't come out before the 3/4 mark. Is the radiator fan working properly? Civic overheating problems usually originate from clogged radiators.

Clogged radiator or a bad water pump are good bets if you're not loosing any coolant.

Teka, baka naman puro tubig na lang ang laman ng system mo. A great way to corrode the cooling system.

you may also want to check the thermostat and thermoswitch as these may get busted or not read signals properly if there is a lot of buildup around it.

best bet would be to get a new thermostat and switch, then overhaul the radiator and fill it with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water. this should fix your overheating problemsÜ

pag kumukulo ang tubig sa reservoir pag mainit na ang engine kahit may coolant naman ito at mabilis din itong mabawasan kahit wala namang leak sa mga hoses or waterpump, cylinder head gasket na ang problem nito. If not baka nga may sira na or due for replacement na ang mechanism ng auxillary fan nito.

good day po, bago lang po ako dito..

naku naku.. Eto rin problema ko.. Di ko lam kung radiator pa or head gasket na talaga ang sira.. Pina-overhaul ko rad ko tas bago narin water pump, un fan naka rekta at some point tumino naman kundisyon ng temp nun bmyahe ako from baguio pa manila..pag dating ko manila pina ayus ko sensor ng fan para di masira agad un fan(as advised by one of my friends) nun okay na sensor,after a week or two,bmalik ako baguio,mejo umangat ulit temp ko,hanggang sa nakabalik ulit ako dito manila ganun parin.. Di ko lam kung dahil ba sa radiator ko(baka daw di maayus pagka overhaul) or un head gasket na daw.. Sabi nun iba try ko mag 2 row rad, may nag advise din nung taurus brand na radiator..

Radiator parin kaya tong problema ko or head gasket na talaga..pag city driving naman okay lang..long driving lang talaga ko nagkakaproblema.. Di ko na alam talaga,, sana po matulungan nyo ko..

Kung head gasket problema naobserbahan ko pag sa umaga buksan mo radiator cap at lagyan mo ng tubig hanggang sa mapuno ito . i revved mo ang makina at tignan mo kung lumalabas paitaas ang tubig sa radiator. Kadalasan nagbabawas ng tubig sa water reservoir.

oh crabs! Ginawa ko un kaninang umaga,lumalabas un tubig pag ni-rev, so ibig sabihn head gasket nga??(mejo makulit..hehe) magkano kaya estimate ng paayus ng head gasket and san pde dalhin na talyer, sa qc area kasi ako..

sakit ng honda yan ganyan overheating sa gauge pero sa actual na temp.engine ay normal lang naman kahit na overhaul ng radiator
d pa rin mawawala yun problima niya kahit na rekta mo pa yun aux fan may overheat pa rin....ganyan ang nagawa ko sa honda SIR may pinalitan lang ako na parts ngayon ok..
