September 19th, 2006 04:03 PM #1Hi guys! Just went to one of those japan surplus shops. And i saw the JDM version for my corolla 97 model where aircon control panels are push buttons. I know i need to change my control panel to accomodate the switches from manual to push buttons. But can anyone give me more idea as to what are the needed task to be done if i pursue this project. Will it require more things to be done? Will it entail total change in terms of re-wiring or more parts? I would appreciate any advise....thanks

Are you talking automatic climate control or just a regular aircon? If it's a regular aircon, it might not be much of a chore, if it's an automatic climate control unit, the wiring may be very difficult.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

September 19th, 2006 10:07 PM #4yung on-off lang ng a/c is easy....but if you're pertaining to the thermostat from analog to digital...you'll need to get the thermostat sensor ng digital and the "brains" ng digital control.
yung analog works like a resitor (knob working on resistance and the sensor probe is producing conductance) na temperature sensitive. Yung digital, kinukombert pa yung conductance to digital factor by a "brain" unit and then relayed dun sa read-out (like saying it is 18 dec C ...etc).

Yung vent selector din ng manual is via bicycle cables. Kapag automatic, via small motors ata siya.
Kung maayos pa naman ang stock system mo, I don't really think it's worth the risk.

September 22nd, 2006 07:14 PM #9Sir SSaloon,
My thread is regarding conversion from manual A/C to push button controls only. Not Auto climate control. I thought ive cleared that already from your previous question. Anyway, thank you again for your advices.
If that's the case, then it isn't cheap. More like a headache down the road, kahit pang coding...
