[SIZE=4]good day po
i recently purchased a 89 l300,gas po ito
when we were inspecting the van before buying we tested the ac,it was working kaso mahina ang lamig
so after buying it we drove it home not turning on the ac kasi wala din naman lamig
the next day my wife brought it to our local ac tech and nilagyan lang ng freon(charged her 800 pesos)and malamig na
the problem is everytime na ginagamit nya ang van at naka on ang ac ay namamatayan daw sya at a certain point, sometimes kailangan padaw itulak.pag di naman naka on ang ac e di naman namamatay
can anybody suggest something or anything,im running out of my wits
any help will be highly appreciated

October 13th, 2010 05:43 PM #2You may want to have the aircon system checked/cleaned as it may be putting too much load on the engine when engaged. Have the idle up device (this causes the rpm to increase when the aircon compressor is turned on) inspected as well.

L300 gasoline '90 model user here, as what CivicVTi suggested.... yes, have the idle up device(actuator) checked if it's working.
if the actuator fails, posibleng mag-choke/mamatay nga yung makina pag nag-AC lalo na pag naka-idling sya dahil hindi na kaya ng makina yung load ng compressor with the aircon switched on.
nagpalit na po ako nito kailan lang, factory installed pa yung pinalitan kong actuator.
you can get this actuator at any decent suking auto supply around 150~250 pesos.
check your accelerator cable also, baka sticky na sya...apektado din yan pag gumagana na yung actuator/idle up system, you can almost feel the the idle up's slight pull at your accelerator pedal everytime na mag-eengage yung compressor pag naka-idle ka.
pinalitan ko na din 'tong sa amin. any replacement model will do also here.
hope it helps....

actuator aka idle up, hanapin mo sa engine compartment nandun sya sa wall malapit sa air cleaner natin.
something like this: (wala yung cam ko to take pics sana)
simple test:
pag nakita mo na sya, while your engine running with the aircon on, purbahan mong tanggalin yung vacuum hose na papuntang timing advancer(sa may distributor) or any of the two.

no problem dude
great at may nakita ka.
btw,na-tuneup mo na ba sya since you acquired it?
get the OEM contact point, condenser and plugs... tried the higher end one plugs but seems nothing felt different at all, mahal pa.. cheaper pa yung OEM IMHO .
check your high tension cables also kung crappy or mukhang laspag na, pwedeng culprit din yan sa stalling pag mahina na yung current flow lalo na yung mangagaling sa coil.
get OEM with the cables also, yun lang naman cables ang medyo may kamahalan ng konti dyan... more or less 3K sya, di ko na makita yung receipt ku.
mag OEM ka na para sa "selected" parts ng ride naten, hindi naman masyadong maantak di tulad nung ibang make/models.
if you have time... try calling mitsubishi about the parts, magugulat ka na reasonable din naman pala sila, may discounts pa.
will change it na lang later on pag nagparamdam na sya...Last edited by benchman; October 15th, 2010 at 09:41 PM. Reason: typo

IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
