salamat!

Kakapalit ko lang kay Mang Mario nyan for 1/3 of the price you mentioned. Check the Mario reyes thread. May warranty pa na 6 months on the compressor.

mahal naman nung quote sa yo sa surplus. you can get a surplus compressor with warranty for 3K lang. marami sa evangelista. tanong ka sa rotary doon baka may stock sila na compatible sa kotse mo.

imhp. if you have dough to spare and you are still going to use your car for a long time, i suggest that you go on brand new. usually yang problem dyan sa surplus, pagkatapos ng warranty sira na rin yan. and its time for you to get another surplus compressor... this will be more expensive for you in the long run compared in getting a brand new compressor with a one year warranty. usually, those brand new aftermarket compressors will again last for around 5 years.
i've previously posted here some of my previous experiences in using surplus compressors...

Totally agree with Happy_Gilmore, been there done that, save a little more and get a brand new A/C compressor.
I used to have two surplus mitair compressors, out of curiousity, kinarne namin ng kakilala ko na A/C tech na dating MitAir technician, then pinagsamasama namin yung mga parts na okay, then binuo ulit namin, hindi din tumagal, mga 8 months lang yata tumagal.
Pero kapag naswertihan mo, eh meron din naman tumatagal, but I would still recommend getting a brand new compressor.
If you have a Sanden compressor, then you're in luck because it can be overhauled, pero kung Mitair yan malas mo.
