umilaw kasi iyong warning light sa dashboard (aircon cooling system) ng Opel Astra ko (2000 model). at the same time, nawalan ng lamig ang aircon at iyong dalawang fan sa makina (engine and aircon), naka fulltime on na. hindi na nag automatic on/off. dinala ko sa casa, sabi nag safety mode na daw ang emu, kasi na detect na may problema sa cooling system, kaya naka fulltime on ang fan. kailangan daw palitan ang cooling system including the compressor sa humahagupit na presyong P108K!!!! Syempre, hindi naman ako sira para magbayad ng ganoon so pull=out ko sasakyan. Okay daw ang compressor and walang bara. Ang sagot sakin, hindi daw pwede kasi dapat daw mapalamig muna ang aircon bago palitan ang module and not the other way around kasi kelangan daw programming noon,etc.. Ano kaya mabuting gawin?

IMO, the CASA could be giving you BS (That's GM Autoworld for you folks)... get first several opinions from some A/C and independent Euro specialist shops w/ the proper diagnostics before making your final decision.

So far, so good naman. no major problem until now and saksakan pa ng mahal kung totoo ngang cra ang cooling system. regular maintenance lang normally ang pinapagawa ko (and one time timing belt replacement) w/c is really not bad when it comes to cost.

The Casa will be too lazy to actually trace what is causing it to trip and just suggest you replace everything.

At least kay Mang Mario (or the other recommended shops here) may fighting chance ka dahil they will try to check the cause first.

Kung hindi naman nila kaya, they will tell you. At least they tried diba.

Sori, ngayon lang ako nakapag-update on this. nakuha ko na car last december pa kaso I made sure to test it muna before giving any feedback sa pagkakagawa.Btw, it took almost a month na magawa laht-lahat kasi mahirap daw maghagilap ng tamang parts.

Anyway, the aircon is fixed. Yung warning sa dashboard is gone and the fans are functioning properly. Pinalitan ang compressor, evaporator and isa pang part na I forgot the name. One thing I noticed lang kasi immediately after getting the car is lumakas ang gas consumption but as the weeks went by, nag-okay na. Ewan ko kung bakit ganon. All in all, inabot ng almost 60K! More than half of that was for the original compressor.90% went into parts and 10% lang halos ang labor cost. I was given the option na magpa re-bracket na lang ng panibago para daw malagyan ng mas murang compressor but I opted to get the original kaya ganon kamahal ang compressor, but still cheaper than the casa price.

Even with the code entered, ayaw na mawala safety mode. Emailed Philips kaso sa casa lang ako ni refer, so I guess sa casa talaga ang pagawa nito.

    *guguly - Try this ...

1 - Turn OFF the radio.
2 - Switch on ignition, but don't start the engine.
3 - Press [AS] before turning ON the radio, but keep it pressed for about 3 seconds until it beeps/displays [ 10 _ _ _ _ ]. See note.
4 - Press preset key [1] repeatedly until it matches the first digit of your code.
5 - Press preset key [2] repeatedly until it matches the second digit of your code.
6 - Press preset key [3] repeatedly until it matches the third digit of your code.
7 - Press preset key [4] repeatedly until it matches the fourth digit of your code.
    8 - Make sure the code displayed is correct (ex: [ 10 c o d e ]).
9 - Press [AS] again for about 3 seconds, then the radio should turn ON normally.

Note that for evey number of times an incorrect code was entered, the radio will wait longer before it accepts a new attempt. Some have waited for hours. From what I've read, x10 is the maximum (someone even posted x6) then it's only a dealer that can sort it.

Thanks for the reply, but did this procedure already. Upon pressing AS, wala na lumalabas, SAFE lang.
