overheating basics??

question lng po. technically, paano ko malalalaman na nag ooverheat na yun engine ko based on the reading? or ano ba talaga definition ng overheating? yun bng nasa red na yun needle or malapit na mag red? ok lng ba yun malapit na mag red basta hwag lng mag red(hindi ko pa ksi malaman kng ano dahilan eh)? does that mean ba may nasira na sa engine ko or what(hindi pa naman umaabot sa red)?

minsan di mo maasahan meter. kahit di umabot sa red pwede magoverheat engine mo. indicators na magooverheat na engine mo - di na lumalamig ac mo; nahihirapan na makina or mahina na hatak; at syempre mapapansin mo na may lumalabas na na usok sa harap. Mapapansin mo din na parang may tumutunog na sa makina.

Kapag umaabot na sa 3/4 ang gauge indication, normal pa ito for some cars especially those with thermostat at you may notice this during heavy traffic. Above 3/4, you should be alarmed especially if running on clear highway because either water level is not normal or flow of coolant is being restricted by something - a locked or malfunctioning thermostat or defective water pump. Overheat is when the engine stalls so be always mindful of the temp indicator to avoid this.

may i know some info to those who purchase/replaced the thermostat, ilang degrees nakalagay sa housing is it 82 deg cel or lower?

we changed our thermostat fue months ago, kaso hindi ko na check yungs specs nya. we just replaced it with an OEM thermostat just to make sure it's still within spec.

pag nasa red na yung temp meter reading i'm sure there must be something wrong. have it check kaagad para hindi na umabot pa mag overheat yan.

kung umabot sa red, let say mga 15minutes na nakared at umaandar pa ang makina.

ano ang masisira?

masisira yung mga seals at gaskets ng makina mo kasi kukulo yung engine oil and eventually maghahanap ito ng lulusutan palabas. overheating may also cause your engine to loose compression.

signs na nag-overheat ka na is pag tumirik ka na at umuusok na ang engine bay mo (nangyari na sa akin ito twice sa jeep ko kasi di accurate yung temp gauge).
