Guys, I just owned a Nissan Vanette '96 and I noticed na whenever tumataas ang temperature ng van (40-60%), humihina ang lamig ng aircon. Any idea why? Kakapalit lang kase namin ng freon nun. Pag early morning or evening naman, malamig ang aircon, yun lang pag tanghali or pagnaka-idle sya ng matagal. Wala din kasing tint ang van eh, do you think it would also affect the temperature inside the vehicle?

Try to compare the aircon response on high noon on two conditions:
    1) Put your vanette on idle for 15 minutes while A/C is on then observe the cabin temperature.
    2) Drive the vehicle fast (above 60km/hr) for 15 mins while A/C is on then observe the cabin temperature.
Repeat the process. If the temp changes between condition specially if when cabin get cooler when vehicle is running then most probably your a/c auxillary fan is no longer working efficiently. Have the motor replace or repaired with new carbon bushing. Better pa check mo dun kay Amang (recommended A/C shop sa may SM West (North Edsa)). Hope this helps

thanks, i had it checked up na sa aircon specialist. naku po, dun ko lang nalaman na may tagas pala front evaporator ng vanette ko and ubos na ang freon. pina-solder ko nalang muna althou advice nila na palitan na evaporator. eh sobrang mahal naman kase ng evaporator nila eh. 8,400 daw, class A, di kaya sobrang mahal nun? Mga magkano evaporator for vanette nowadays?

hayun, nagpa-charge uli ako ng freon, palit ng fittings, solder ng evaporator. i paid 1,600 all in all, don't you think it's too expensive? Coz i think it is.

Advice din ng A/C specialist dun, dagdagan ko daw ng aux fan for the rear nang hindi na humina A/C tuwing tanghali. Any idea how much would it cost me? aux fan + pagpapakabit?

sa vannette talaga i think advisable to add an aux fan (based dun sa mga nakakausap ko who owns one), i dunno why?. Some inililipat condenser to optimize airflow. advise ko lang sir to watch out for your evaporator kasi baka mabutas uli di kasi gaanong reliable to just patch it up, mapapansin mo naman yan kung tumagas uli, bigla lalamic ang A/C mo as in umuusok tapos nun pag patay and start uli wala na lamig.

you might want to check your aux fan. If I remember correctly it has four blades. Nissan has a compatible fan blade with 5 blades and used it often to "upgrade" vanettes with problems.

usually a/c shops charges 700 - 800 for a aux fan replacement, kasama na yung surplus aux fan.
