    my car is a mazda familia efi. I observed the problem just two days ago. Once the a/c kicks in, the idling fluctuates. i don't know if it's an electrical problem, bad sensor, timing, or it just needs a tune-up. The last tune up i had was aug 15 last yr.any thoughts?

    possibly dirty throttle body. Also check the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) .. it might need to be replaced already.

    sir, ung sakin 96 corolla gli na matic...if a/c is on nag idle sya sa 1000rpm, at pag bumuga ung compressor ba un ng a/c??? tumataas sya ng hangang 1250rpm..........has this something to do with iacv also???

    opposite naman siya dun kay chorb.. Im not sure about your case pero ang IMO, the iacv (or servo or idle up - whatever they call it depende sa car brand) is used to maintain the idle settings to the same level whenever the a/c is on. In your case, baka sa ECU settings na yon..maybe you can have your trusted mechanic do the diagnostic tests or let's wait for other inputs from the gurus here ...

    IMO your idle is high.

    here's mine, my car is a also 1.6 fuel injected sedan:

    A/C on and engine in ideal working temp and compressor not pumping, my idle is 800

    A/C on and engine in ideal working temp and compressor pumping, my idle is playing between 900 and 1000

    it's possible it has something to do with your IACV, have the IACV, throttle body and intake manifold cleaned first, then observe.

    have the tb cleaned muna and all the sensors checked. also see if the a/c is over/under charged with freon as that may be the cause also.

    i had it tune up last week....cleaned throttle body, servo (w/carb cleaner???) and adjusted the timing.....so far ok naman sya, i mean it went down to 750 while at idle and rises to 1000-1100 when compressor kicks in. From the message ive read (thanks a lot guys!) looks like 750 is too low?

    by the way, ung iacv ko daw parang sunog na (ung part na parang may electrical) though gumagana pa naman but visible na ung parang burned/blackened look........is this still ok? i asked the mechanic kung pde yun lang ung parang electrical palitan, he said buo daw yun......any thoughts how much this would cost?

    idle up sensors can range from 6k bnew all the way to 15k depending the engine and car in question.

    yes definitely nasa aicv yan,d worse sa ecu.have it cleaned munaand check mga vacuum hoses.nagbblink ba eng check light car mo?

    I had this bad encounter lately. I had my AC compressor replaced w/ a pajero or dual AC cmpressor type a month ago. After two days, start na magloko engine ko. Namamatay engine ko pag matagl na gamit AC while on the road. I checked it with casa, servo is ok naman daw. I went to banawe din, ginawan nila bago AC wiring dahil wala daw line sa servo ko. OK sya for 4days tapos balik ulit prob ko kanina. Ano pa kaya pwede ko ipa-check para maayos na? I just wonder kc pag wala AC lakas ng hatak. M having thought baka dahil sa pang pajero AC compressor nakalagay sa sedan ko kaya ganun. pls help me solve this prob. Tnx a lot!

    baka under rated ang alternator mo to drive the ac comp na mataas amps.nddrain batt mo kaya nagstall engine mo,IMO lang.

    try mo ipa timing ,pero madalas sa aicv-aac valve yan.disconnect mo carbon canister solenoid or plug d medium size vacuum hose.linisin mo rin TB nyan.

    mataas pa rin ung kay artpogi,ideal is 850+- 50 rpm.tipid sa gas.baka advance timing mo pogi.chorb hanap ka na ng surplus kungnd umubra nlinis.assembly kunin mo local ha.wag japan surplus.
