    sa mga expert! pa-help naman po. mejo may problem kasi ako sa car ko ngayon. ang model is 1998 mitsubishi mirage dingo (japan/cagayan version) automatic.. dati wala naman problema, lately lang.

    pag ngstart ng car normal nmn temp. unti unti umaangat. hanggang sa maging half hway na sa temp.

    pag nakakabyahe na ako nang mejo malayo mainit na agad yung radiator nya. then pag in-off ko yung makina, at tnry ko patakbuhin uli ay ayaw na umandar. although yung temp nya is half way parin sa H & C.

    nag sstart naman sya pero ayaw na magdrive o mag forward. aantayin ko uli lumamig yung radiator bago umadar uli.

    tnry ko na palitan yung coolant pero ganun parin.

    baka may maisuggest kayo remedy or repair shop na reliable at mura. san juan po area ko.

    pls help. thanks.

    Pa check mo ang cooling system. Tinggnan kung may nayuyupi na hose, depektong water pump, radiator fan working ok (nag on/off ba?), thermostat ok, at ang number one ay radiator (need overhaul?). Posibilidad na dahil mainit kaya ayaw mag engage ang auto-tranny.

    I hope I'm wrong but for a 1998 model matic, good chance the transmission is slipping.
    Does it have an external (not the radiator) ATF cooler?

    Pa check mo iyong cooling system mo . Radiator Fan , Radiator need to be clean , Hoses, Thermostat ,Radiator cap . Sa ngayon maraming mga overhead issue at tirik ng sasakyan dahil sa init ng panahon.

    sir yung fan nag oon and off. ndi continous ung andar ng fan. kelangan ba lagi naka-on? or laging naka off? nasa half lang yung temp indicator. magkano kaya aabutin sa overhaul sir? may alam kayo mganda at murang pagawaan?

    additional lang. gamit ko kasi ngaun unleaded. 93 octane. sabi ng iba 95 octane daw kailangan ng dingo. posible kaya yun ang dahilan. dati kasi yung extreme 97 octane gamit ko, ok naman.

    Nope wala kinalaman ang octane rating sa problem mo, kung hindi man compatible ang engine sa 93 octane rating or lower, mangyayari lang ay mag engine knock sya during acceleration.

    As suggested by the others ipa-check nyo ang cooling system specially the radiator. Baka luma na masyado at barado na ang loob kaya kelangan na ibaba at linisin/overhaul.

    Pa-overhaul mo muna ang radiator, maraming roadside shop ang gumagawa nito. Pag-ayos na ang radiator at puno na ulit ang coolant ang system, i-flush mo ng paulit-ulit hanggang malinis na ang tubig na lumalabas (hindi kulay kalawang).
    Kung walang ibang problema ang makina then sigurado lalamig back to normal yang temperature. Malalaman natin ngayon kung ang auto tranny mo ay "slipping" na siya talaga or just because mainit lang ang ATF kaya di mag engage (di ko alam kung may separate cooler yang atf ng tranny).

    May problem nga sa cooling system. Kaya ayaw na mag start at need mo palamigin I think is a protection system to prevent na lalong ma overheat ang engine which would result to more disastrous consequences.

    Like everyone else I also think you need to have your cooling fans, heat sensors, radiator (madali ma check, fill it up then place a newspaper underneath the car pag nabasa alam mo na me leak) or your cooling system checked. Busted pipes mahuhuli sa leakage nito.

    Have it checked by any roadside shop pero mas mabuti pa check mo sa Petron or Shell na may service bay. You may want to try Speedyfix sa Mandaluyong maraming positive feedback sa kanila. Good luck.

    pag nagstart ba ako ng makina tuloy tuloy dapat naka on yung fan? nag oon lang kasi siya pag nag aircon ako (pero maya maya nag ooff din tapos on uli). parang nakatap sa aircon yung fan..

    try ko paoverhaul this weekend. mejo dami pa ginagawa eh. update ko po kayo. thanks po sa lahat!

    Clear muna natin. Sorry hindi pa ko nakakita ng engine bay ng ride mo. Ilan ang auxiliary fan dyan sa likuran ng radiator? (normally dalawa. one each for radiator and condenser).

    Kung dalawa yan at isa lang ang nag on/off pag umaandar ang aircon then ang fan na ito ay for condenser cooling. Dapat ang isang fan pa ay on/off ayon sa temperature ng cooling water ng makina. Possible na ang radiator fan ay hindi umaandar dahil sa electrical problem, maybe fuse, relay, temperature sender/switch or the electric motor itself.
    Kapag dalawa ang naka-install na fan at isa lang ang gumagana (condenser cooling fan) sigurado na iinit ang makina mo kasi hindi kaya ng isa dapat dalawa ang tatakbo. May mga toyota xl dati na pag patay ang aircon ang engine temperature ay tumataas kasi hindi kaya ng isang fan palamigin ang radiator (maybe partially block ang air passage sa radiator) lalo na tag-init at sa gitna ng traffic.

    Baka ganito ang problema ng car mo.

    you mentioned your temperature gauge halfway. this is normal, however, the transmission may have a slipping problem. at this age of your car, specially if you had overheating problem, may have already damaged or worn your clutch packs and brake bands in your transmission. what you can do to (hopefully the results are negative), is to perform a stall test. do this with the engine at normal operating temperature, vehicle at a level surface, wheels chocked, then while applying the service brakes and the parking brakes, place the transmission in D range and rev the engine up while observing the tachometer at what engine rpm the tach stops. record the result and repeat procedure in reverse after the engine and transmission has cooled of a minute or two and record the stall speed again.

    use a shop tach you can purchase this at a low price
