aircon experts...strange "sipol" sound coming from the air con vent

hi car is toyota vios, 1 year pa lang... mga 1 week ko cguro ndi na drive, ngayon, dadrive ko sana and papa car wash ko, then when i turned on the air con, i noticed that ma "sipol" na tunog na lumalabas sa air-con vent, by the way last week walang ganun na tunog nung pag drive ko, ngayong araw lang ito lumabas, the aircon is cold and wala naman strange na amoy coming from the aircon, strange sound lang, by the way ndi ko pala napapagalaw kahit kanino yung aircon ko... anyone who has an idea on where is the strange sound coming and how to get rid of it... thanks

Try opening and closing the vents. Baka hangin lang may nahihipan na kung ano. In my case, when I close the left vent, the next time I open the A/C there's this faint whistling sound. I open the left vent and it's gone. Probably there's a hole that air blows out at a certain speed causing the whistle (increased as more air blows out because the other way is blocked).

But it could be something else.

baka hissing sound?...based on experience, kapag hissing sound kulang sa freon(bagong palinis kasi ako aircon noon)pero pano mababawasan ng freon ng kotse mo nang hindi mo naman pinapagalaw????...may warranty pa naman iyan kaya dalhin mo sa iyong car dealer para ma check nilang mabuti...

yung sipol nandyan kapag malamig yung car...a.k.a kakastart lang..............pero kapg after few minutes, bigla na lang nawawala yung sound...
if yung sound ay dahil dun sa butas na lumalabas yung freon...malamig pa din hangang ngayon eh. it's just that annoying sound...
by the way not sure ako pero paang yung sound ay galing sa aircon vent together with the right seat below the glove compartment...

mdyo nawawala na yung trust ko sa toyota reliability a...hehe

I am not sure about this pero ang alam ko kulang na sa refrigerant iyan (r12 or r134a). Sabi sa akin ng trusted aircon man namin, who still services our cars since he was employed sa casa until now that he is resigned. Most air con guys will not fully vacuum the system before putting in the new r12 or r134a. If it was not fully vacuumed, it will cause the expansion valve do a whistling sound.

Anyway since he services our cars for several years na or more than a decade na. I haven't heard this sound, I only hear this when I ride somebody's car.

i think expansion valve yan pero sabi sakin dati ng ac tech, wala naman daw problema yan kaso ten year old na kotse ko(esi 94). Mabuti pa pacheck mo kasi warraty pa naman.HTH.

I have been ignorning that sound for the past 7 years that I have been driving. Wala naman bad effect.

Sometimes its just refrigerant which has settled in the lowest part of your system. When you turn it on, it starts to circulate again making some noise.

If there are no signs of leaks (put soap on your hoses and fittings) and the a/c performs as intended, huwag mo na ipabaklas baka magkanda leche leche lang a/c mo. Bagong bago pa naman.

sir otep, anu ba yang sound lumalabas sa aircon mo?.... kapag tinakbo mo ng few kms. or kun mdyo uminit na yung makina nawawala na yung tunog? ito yung napansin ko sa car ko eh...

the aircon is cold, walang pinagiba sa dati...kaya lang naiirita lang ako sa "whistling sound" since medyo malakas ang tunog na mapappansin mo talaga kun nagdadrive ka pero mya mya mawawala lang mag isa... weird noh?.... and that ngayon lang itong lumalabas, nung last week na dinadrive ko pa car ko wala pa naman ganun na tunog eh..

Mine is more of a hissing sound na nawawala kapag malamig na ang a/c (naka-ikot na ang refrigerant).

Sometimes there is also some 'whine' from the blower motor. It goes away by itself also.

hi guys ...recently dinadrive ko yung car ko wala na yung hissing sound, sa tingin ko nga dahil yata ito sa matagal kong ndui pagdrive ng car ko...

got my vios nov 2009. yesterday naka 3 yun blower. ok naman normal all. then nilagay ko sa 4 para lumamig agad kasi kaka drive lang nakabilad sa araw. yun pag 4 ko sa blower biglang nagkaroon ng whining sound sa blower. the more na malakas yung blower the louder it gets.
walk-in ako sa toyota commonwealth. iwan auto makukuha after 1 week. pag appointment , may 13 pa pwede at iwan din makukuha after 3 days. nag tanong ako sa denso quezon ave hindi raw sila authorized under warranty pa. pero 1 day lang sa kaninla.
yung lamig same parin. so it's not the freon. kung may paper or tape na sumasabit pwede ko ba abutin? matatangal ko ba yung cover? malalaman ba ng toyota yung binuksan yun cover?

hindi ko na natiis . i opened the glove compartment. and dun pala yun blower hindi na siya gaya nung araw na nasa gitna at naka tutuk sa taas yung fan. then kinapa ko yung fan. ayun! yung plastic na nasa glove compartment nahigop. nawala yung sipol nung tinanggal ko.
next time wag mag lagay ng mga papel o plastic na pwedeng mapunta sa blower. thanks guys!

whistling sound on an a/c system shows that your expansion valve is working well..yun mga replacement mas malakas ang sipol so go for the oem brand sa toyota denso yan sa PAC sa laguna ginagawa yan..kami supplier ng housing ng evaporator niyan hehehe...wala yan problem as long as lumalamig ang ride mo no need to iparepair ito sabi nga ni sir otep magkaleche-leche lang yan kapag binaklas same as nangyari sa akin nagbara expansion valve ko sa rear a/c ko ayun until now para lang blowerr...ot na censya na...
