Adventure Overheating

Hi Good and Gentle Tsikoteers!

Im a newbie here.
Our Mit Adventure we got from 2nd Car shop.
We noticed that temperature rises more than half the gauge, even if the
aircon is off, and driving at normal road conditions.
We had the driver check the Radiator Fan, and he noticed it can be spun easily. Probably the fan is slipping from the shaft and cannot blow enough air to cool the radiator. Could this be the problem?
Or is there any other possible problem? Hope anybody could be of help.

since the unit you purchased is second-hand, one common cause of overheating would be a clogged radiator. you could try flushing your radiator and then replace it with fresh coolant. if you would do a search among the various threads here in tsikot, there are many causes of engine overheating, let's hope that your problem is the simple one i mentioned above.

others would try to make the fan's clutch into a fixed conversion from the free wheeling. With my L300 van I had it converted so if I see the temperature rising I jsut step more on the gas pedal to increase the fan's speed but it also increases my fuel consumption.

maybe you just need to put some new silicone oil sa clutch fan.

Yup! radiator flush, Silicone Oil para sa clutch fan at pinalitan ang temp sensor (thermostat) ng adventure ko and it solve the overheating problem...

Thanks for the suggestion.After radiator flushing what did you do(replace coolant, water? How to put silicone oil sa clutch, what brand? and how to change thermostat? bagito pa kasi ako sa car repair.

after flush pinalitan coolant and water. tapos ginawa nya silicone oil and yung temp sensor nya pinalitan (not sure if thats called thermostat) basta kahit pa hinda naka andar sasakyan pag on mu nasa HOT naka indicate na. sira da yung temp sensor ko. yun lang po. pinag gawa ko lang kasi. i really cant share the details...
